K&N Intake Deal

Is it worth it to pay the extra $40 for the k&n filter? Also do i need tge gasket to install?

My gasket was fine and I didn't splurge for the K&N, but I'm not a fan of oiled filters.

The trouble with oiled filters is that when folks go to clean it, they are in a hurry and soak the filter element with too much oil and don't let it sit for a while. They end up sticking them back in the car too early with too much oil on it and thus it leads to fouling up the MAF sensor, giving MIL's on the dash.

If you read the instructions correctly, you'll see that it says not to over oil it and to let it sit for a bit.
When you put too much oil on it, you are already in trouble.

A well maintained, properly cleaned oiled filter will run an entire year with excellent performance.

... and, its looks cool!
