Had issues with my '98 last year. Power dropped of at 3,500 rpm. No codes.
Checked IMRC, fuel pressure, plugs, etc.
Replaced the mass air flow sensor.
BAM!
It was like driving a new car!

Finally need to replace a D3S in my MKS.
How do you get that thing out of there?
Can't really see a retaining ring.
At least the bulb is available.
Unlike my 98 LSC when the first one went out in 2003!

'98 Black/Gray lsc with tinted windows & 10 spokes.
It will be sleeping until 04/01.
Pretty tempting to get it out when it's 70 degrees in Burnsville, MN though!

Thanks, I'll start with the fuel filter & check the IMRC cables. It will be a few weeks before I can try the results. Probably still "parked" for 6 more weeks.
I have a '98 continental for the winter, but it just ain't the same. When spring comes it's like driving a new car again! :D
Before I put my 98 lsc w/120K away for the winter in MN I began to notice my cars power band falls flat @ 3800 rpm. Just quits pulling hard.
Figure I should fix it so it's ready for spring.
Where should I start looking? Stuck IMRC's? No Codes.
Fuel Pump? What should the rail pressure be...
The Mark VIII forum is more technical that the Continental forum.
I also have a 98 Continental and the coolant fans will not turn on!
Is it similar to the Mark VIII?
