Congrats Doug! I agree with Driller. So far, you have done AMAZING work with this car. I have already made the comment on another thread here that I have the gut feeling you might take a new N/A record. There's just something about the persistence with you and that car. Every little detail....

What clues are you getting that there is more left in the tune?

On a side note, don't doubt that 280rwhp mark yet. :cool:

It's still a bit lean in first gear, and I'm still playing around with the shift points and timing.
 
Stinks not being able to alter all those things easy on a Gen1. You guys got it made.

True but im sure with all the mods DLF and KStrom have in their 13 second gen 2's - a gen 1 would probably get in the high 12's imo- just a thought.

KStrom- will you ever SC your gen 2 :D ?

How awesome that Pro Racer Package must be for you. What are you shifting at now? I'd also be curious at what mph your converter is locking in 3rd gear. I know for sure that my lock-up will be delayed in 3rd gear until a higher mph.

Nope, the quickest N/A Gen 1 ran 13.113 @ 104.31

How can you be "sure", or even have an opinion on the subject? Are you even driving yet? :p

On this pass, 1-2 @ 7K and 2-3 @ 6.9K

There is no difference between Gen 1 and 2 when you change to cobra intake and tuning software. Then they have advantage.
 
That i knew, do gen 2's way more than gen 1's? They look a little big bulkier to me.

I have to disagree grasshopper.;) As stated and we have seen, proper tuning and a Cobra intake on the Gen2s will work wonders. The problem up until now I think is that guys running their Gen2s at the track didn't invest enough time into tuning the car and a vast majority of them never mess with the intake and think the stocker is "good enough". Then you consider the fact that some of them "fear the stall" and "fear the gear". It really is a recipe where you can't skimp on the ingredients. I am still guilty of that myself, as I am in the middle of getting my car back on its feet again but my tuning sucks. I know it's hurting me and I need to get it fixed. I doubt how well I will be able to close the gap with DLF this year. He has done a fantastic job.

As far as S/C I have my eyes on a blown Mark out of state. If it is around in a few months when the funds are there, I'm considering flying down to get it. But at this point DLF has forced me to stay NA and see how far I can get. :p

Honestly though, it's sort of a battle but really all in fun. I respect what DLF has done. The challenge of going fast all motor has been fun and I'm going to see how far I can get.
