I did something stupid last night; need opinions

Just plasti-dip them until you have the cash to refinish them all in gunmetal if that's the color you want. I have a lot of pet peeves about tailgaters, but my only advised is slow down or let them pass.
 
I'm with the takem off and get them redone in gunmetal now crowd.. If my memory serves me you probably have 3 sets of something cool with good rubber sitting in your garage anyway!! Hell your spare sets are probably better than my primary set!!

It still sucks and I feel your pain!

Then let CHP and law enforcement do the job. Let the idiot speeder have the "hammer" lane and laugh your arse off, when they get pulled over and get the ticket. Just be considerate of others. Who knows. Maybe that speeder is on the way to the hospital see his child being born or see a mother/father one last time before they pass on. You don't know why they are in a hurry. But you sure want to make sure they are late.:rolleyes:
 
Wont comment on tailgaters that's like talking religion with me, you wont win..

Just fix them when you can do them all at once bro.. Sure it looks rough right now but your not in a car show. Coulda been way worse....
 
My last truck I installed an air bottle, air shocks, switch to shocks & brake light. Tailgater: Hit switch, rear fully extends shocks brake lights come on! Tailgater heads for the ditch! Rest switch brake lights go out, shocks go down. LOL @ tailgater in ditch!
 
^^Nothing personal, but this how people end up on the news for senseless violence. I truly wish someone would try such toward me.
 
And then end up in jail for brandishing? I am a concealed carry permit holder and would never produce a gun simply for the sake of scaring someone in traffic.

If you are cruising in the passing lane at the same speed as everyone else, and someone is coming behind you, move over let em pass. If you are in the process of passing, even behind the car you intend to pass, the guy behind you is SOL. But Sitting there and having them pass on the right causes accidents, because They can't see what you can, (because of our left hand drive cars) and it's just as unsafe for you as it is for the guy in a hurry.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I've been too depressed to comment lol, but i'm doing something on saturday that has me in a better mood; I'M GETTING MY LS DYNOED!!! for the first time ever.

Numbers should be pretty low, since i haven't felt my LS run 100% in a while, and based on some App i bought on my iphone(Pocket Dyno +). I know its not as accurate as being on a track or on a dyno but at least its consistent. I only run high 15s on the 1/4 mile according to the app :( (Fastest:15.86 @90.20--estimated power: 196 whp). Will be good to finally get some concrete numbers!

Anyway i digress.

About the wheels...i've decided to hold off on the powdercoating for a bit and try to refinish them myself or plasti-dip them. However the latter may not be the best option as the wheels currently have some significant gashes and would look just as bad dipped. I will powdercoat them in the near future tho, i have a good job offer on the table so i won't be to hard-pressed to drop some serious cash into my LS lol

By the way I like to speed up when people are on my ass, as a way of saying "oh you're in a hurry? well keep up!" Not the best practice i know. Road rage is bad!!!
 
Not directed to anyone in particular... Traveling in the left lane is technically not allowed unless you are passing (at least here in MA). Be courteous of others, including those that wish to drive faster where it is safe to do so. It is not your job to slow other cars down to what you think is right/safe and your just creating a dangerous situation. It is also technically illegal to impede the flow of traffic, even if that flow is faster than the posted limit. You're just as wrong to drive with your thumb up your ass in the left lane as you are to speed in it.

I actually had a state trooper pull up behind me while going 15 over the limit passing other cars. I increased speed further to pass the cars on my left and pull over and he just drove on past.

I notice your tire is even narrower than stock... perhaps that also contributed to the damage (from a traction standpoint, not wheel lip protection). I made a similar stupid mistake and wrecked a stock wheel beyond repair. Haven't done it since!
 
Yea the tires are certainly narrower than they should be. From a looks standpoint they look much better than with stock size(IMO). But from a protection standpoint i definitely need more rubber. I will probably go with more rubber for my next set of tires.

And as far as my specific incident goes, there was no traction issues. I had completely control of the car, i just took the curve too fast and too close to the curb :( I guess you live and learn.
