I have chrome between doors and on the bottom of my car its the adhesive stick ons. i bought my car with them on:mad:. anyone know the best way to get the chrome off?
 
Heat it up with a hair dryer, If you use an actual heat gun be very careful as it will really soften the paint. Then use a detergent to clean off any remaining glue.

+1 Carefull with the heat gun and goo-gone works great with the adhesive residue.
 
I had those stupid chrome pillars on my 02LSE and I used 40# spider wire fishing line to get them off and 'goof off' cleaner to get the adhesive off. I made loops on both ends of a 12" piece of the fishing line and worked it back and forth behind the chrome overlay. It left alot of the adhesive but it came off with a bit of work. I'm not sure how 'goof off' will affect your paint tho
 
i like the fishing like idea. i might use painters tape and tape the sourrounding paint when i use the goof off
 
I've had "Goof Off" and Acetone on my paint before on my truck when I Acetoned the badges. From my experience as long as it doesn't sit on there and your rinse it off in a timely manner it will be fine. Just my experience with it. I like the fishing line idea.
 
You could probably use one of those wheels you attach to a drill to remove the adhesive.
 
Auto parts stores have 3M Adhesive Remover, works on all glued on stuff. I have used it for years! 3M adhesive is used by most automakers and after market companies for most applications. It won't effect paint!
 
+1 on 3M adhesive remover. I use Autosmart Tardis, but last time I checked, there are no US distributors.
