I'm selling the mark vii and buying a sho fu<k it

Laser you just cost me 1g! Picking up a red 93 mtx tomorrow. Then Gonna sell the mark vii and do exactly everything you listed.

that's wonderful. don't think i would ever give up a mark vii with a 5 speed myself though. i'd take that before a fwd 4 door. they are stupid fast, but i have more fun elsewhere.

no burnouts without welded diff pins. your diff will explode. not if, when.
don't powershift 3rd. third is the weakest gear and has stripped in many a MTX.

who knows i might keep it, its pretty beat up. runs and drives awesome just looks like sheit. im bored of it anyways, barely gets driven, only bought it out of impulse no real plans for it lol.

The guy buying mine is already shopping for wheels and a nitrous kit and gonna do all the chasis/suspension mods. Car is gonna be quite the sleeper and its is DD. Replacing a 1990 Corsica.

Talk about a DD upgrade!

I was pretty close to picking up the V8 SHO a few years back, it was donated to a local church which then sells the cars donated. I came back the next week with the money and it was already sold.

I know a guy local to me that just let a newer bodystyle SHO go for like 500 bucks.....

Easy there sport... Its just a Taurus with a JAPANESE motor in it. Need I remind you its FWD?

Funny actually, Fords 3.8 got 140 HP. I actually had a 88 Sable wiht a 3.0 140 HP in it. Yamaha banged out 220 out of their version of a 3.0. Yes 24 valves and all, nice tubing.

I remember we raced a 89 SHO 5-speed with my friends 86 LSC and that SHO boogied away from us pretty fast, front wheels looked like they were gonna break off, looked funny. We were not laughing though, I must say.

Nice kill!!!

The 3rd Gen Fireturd that I will be hunting SHO's with
Firebird.jpg

No but seriously I had a 86' GN and a SHO lined up with me at a red light. Like the idiot I was in 1997 floored it and heard a pop while the SHO just drives by me

Blew a freaking head gasket on the 3.8 and was just able to get the thing to limp home where it sat till I sold it for $1000

Anyway the Firechicken was a free car 5.0 5 speed with a busted back window.
Just got this GTA to pick parts off of to fix mine.

Just need to figure out what engine I'm swapping into it?
I still have a new 8.2l sitting waiting for me to use it :gr_devil:

If you going to get a GM car, just get this one and be done with it. Can anyone guess what this car is?

Nope, your correct! Fiero it is! :D Wish Ford built a car like that, to swap numerous engines in. :( Unless your talking about the Plymouth Fire Arrow lol. :p

No for a sec I was thinking MR2.

Ford does have an interesting lil car like this but I wouldn't want to swap a V8 into it

Btw laser, I saw your twin at the junk yard a few days ago..car was still in decent shape, makes me wonder why they scrapped it..motor must have been blown or something, body was still nice with no rust, 2 remaining sho rims which of course had locks on them, both front sc style front seats still there in ok shape, front and rear bumpers, ..hope someone picks the rest apart before it gets crushed

There were also a couple 1st gen marks there one was a 93 with nice headlights and drive shaft..ill post a few of those pics later but here's the sho.

I have toyed with the idea of putting a SHO's drive drivetrain in a small mid engine car like the MR-2 (Not that I like them just had a nieghbor who had a newer one with a good body and would sell it cheap)???

Ahh, yes the RS200! Fast little car, used to play with it on Forza. :shifty: For a second thought maybe it was the Escort or Sierra Cosworth. Fiero, would easily be the more obtainable car though lol.

Toyota MR2 = Yuck

Check this out..same time I saw the SHO I saw these..black one was a 94 which looked like it had been completly submerged in water, the interior was trashed, everything was growing fuzzy mold on it. I know the windshields aren't tempered glass but I would think the glass would break into smaller shards than this..my god I hope I never get into a front end accident with my car and have the windshield break like this...

Fastmark, yes Bill has started something as I myself started looking for a SHO. Found one, 95 bad trans but has never seen winter. Going to look at it over the next couple of days and I am sure I can get him down to $500.00 or $600.00 from the 1K asking price. He has been sitting on it too long and it is taking up room in his driveway

Oooooh. I love the Fiero! Love to have one some day. It's just not practical right now for me to have a 2 seater. And it's hard to find one that's not burnt to a crisp...:D

Ford had a nice little 2 seat sports car concept back in 1986 called the 230ME. It looked a LOT like a Fiero, only better. And it had the Turbo Coupe's 2.3L 4-banger mounted amidships driving the rear wheels. I have an issue of Automobile magazine from '86 that has an article of that car in it. It also has spy shots of the "new" '87 Mustang GT and Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. As well as the Porsche 959 on the cover. I'll try to find it and scan a couple of shots of the 230ME. It was really a nice looking car. I wish Ford would have built it.

I wonder if any one has ever made an SHO wagon
Yup, Ford built one to see if there was any interest. There wasnt so it never made production. There are also several people that have built them cause really the stuff is cheap. You can get a fresh rebuild 3.2 with pistons of choice and warrenty for under $1500. Take the ATX (auto) 3.2 block and throw the 3.0 cams (higher lift and duration) and guys are making 260rwhp with no problems. Thats 300 at the crank and on a 3000lb car it will move you really well.

KeVIIIn, can you grab the rear speed sensors off the SHO?
