I agree, I have them in my Cobra.
You, however, don't have a Cobra, you have a Mark VIII, and it's an entirely different animal, I assure you.
To hit 12's you'll need a trap speed around 104-105 MPH and 60's in the high 1.7 range. With 4.56's and a 25" tire (275/40-17 DR's) you'd make the traps in 3rd at right around 6,500 RPM and 105 MPH, IF you have the motor. A 26" tire is good for about 110MPH @ 6,500 RPM.
I'd skip the spool and get a True-Trac diff, I have them in all of my cars, and pull mid 1.7's with my Cobra and SC, so they're up to the task.
You've been posting quite a bit about tuning and performance, but I have yet to see recent track numbers, it'll be interesting when you post some.
Good luck with your project.
Don't forget about converter slip![]()
My best time to date is 9.4 @ 79, 2.19 60'.
Slicks, tune, 4.30s, and drop in k&n with the Pass seat removed.
Then your doing something wrong. My 97 Evergreen LSC made those wxact same numbers when it was 100% stock with a half tank and a system and my fat arse driving.Don't forget about converter slip

I'm only guesstimating on the tune, and I plan a dyno session soon. I'm only adding timing above 3k rpms, and I hope to revise it and hopefully drop my 60.

The tune. Or the mechanic. Or the driver. Or all three.so....what would be the problem?
The tune. Or the mechanic. Or the driver. Or all three.
If you're still using a stock TC, then you're wasting your time chasing track results.
The tune. Or the mechanic. Or the driver. Or all three.
Who gives a flying fock about MPH. Its a drag race, time to distance is what matters. Spinning your tires off the line equates to a higher MPH.
No :q:q:q:q sherlock. I was just proving that my car is in running order. MPH predicts horsepower very well.
You keep not proving anything. You parrot some things you heard online but thats it. How old are you, 17,18?No :q:q:q:q sherlock. I was just proving that my car is in running order. MPH predicts horsepower very well.

My age has nothing to do with it. You are the only guy here telling me I need to give up and sell my car for a 2011 mustang.
I learned hp and mph have a greater correlation than et back when I messed around with carburetors.
Fock it, you know what you are doing. Why even bother asking for assistance here? You seem to have all the knowledge you will ever need. Have fun, Im out.My age has nothing to do with it. You are the only guy here telling me I need to give up and sell my car for a 2011 mustang.

Give up on the spool if you ever plan to drive the car on the street. It's not safe and you'll risk breaking things. A trac-loc isn't bad, but they do wear out.
