Sorry, not a Mark.

All in all its a great driver. Runs perfect and gets 31.8 mpg on the highway. Even racing a couple early New Edge GTs today (which I beat :D) and then spending about 2 hours idleing its average only dropped to 26. I am not sure if I can run regular but with the heat and the blower I figure its better to have as much knock protection as I can get so I have been filling it with super.

In the last pic you can see the dammage the PO did to the rear. I got a JY trunk lid for $18 and looks 100x better but the body dammage is there to stay.

Doubt it. I am not spending any cash to fix this up. Just get the window working, tint and some super cheap speakers. Thats it.
 
From your first description, it really sounded like a POS. After looking at the pics, it really looks like a nice car. Are these pics before or after you work your magic on it? In my opinion, it's the perfect beater. Great gas mileage, power, and loaded. How can you go wrong. Lots of luck Bill. Hope things start going your way!

I cleaned it up, replaced the trunk lid and knocked some dents out of the hood. Thats about it so far looks wise.
After I replace the window regulator I am gonna get it tinted pretty dark.

No but its quicker by a hair. Doing some highway pulls against Sapperfire showed me a one car advantage. I just learned today its speed limiter is 110 and it got there quick and would easily have pulled another 30-40 MPH it felt like.

Tempting to get the ECU since its only $125 and makes everything better but I really dont want to spend any money making this thing faster or fancier. Just basic reliable transportation is what I need now.
 
It doesn't look too bad! Not nearly as bad as the initial description made it out to be. Good luck with it! And if you ever have any questions about it, feel free to ask. I work for Toyota now, but have some decent experience at GM dealerships.
 
Honestly other than the dents, that is a very clean looking car. Good gas mileage, comfortable, cheap to own and fast. What more could you ask for from a DD?

Oh I know you will want to upgrade but first it's the ECU and then it goes on and on and on... Save up for another Mark because you are going to miss RWD.

The newer regals are nice too especially the turbo.

Yeah I was looking at vid's of the 12' gs's today. Those things look really nice. Kinda weird having the power come from a small disp turbo 4cyl though in such a big car.
 
Got it tinted today at my favorite shop. Guys gave me a great deal since it was the 5th car I had them do. He was so excited to see he didnt need to remove old tint that he only charged me $100. 5% rear and 20% on the front doors. The AC works much better during the day now.

Also forgot to post this pic of the trunk the car came with. Had 6 holes in it for the wing but the wing needed work so the trunk lid was a lost cause to fix, more so since a new white one thats flawless was only $18. :D

I wouldn't mind driving that to work and what not, sure its cheap to maintain and its not like anyone can see you with that tint anyways lol

Dont tell me what I am or am not gonna do. I can tell myself the truth and stick with it. This car will not be getting lowering springs, will not get subframe aluminum bushings, will not get a ZZP computer, will not get (well might if I can find a puller and I already have a free pulley) a smaller blower pulley, will not get headers, will not get wheels or even better tires.

It is strictly a beater. Had to fix the AC cause comeone, its been over 103* for almost 40 days straight. Tint was a slight extravagence but not really. Car no longer makes me miserable while the AC takes 15 minutes to cool the interior plus I dont want people seeing me drive it. Window regulator was a must because who the fock wants to have tape holding the window up. Its a security hazard. Speakers were also an extravagence but all the cars speakers are blown and I bought MB Quarts and some Pioneers for under $50.

Thats all this car will get. If I wanted to power mod it then I would have bought a perfect GS for $700 more with no body dammage. For me to love a car it has to be near flawless and most of the body dammage this car has is in bad spots to fix and will cost $2000+ to make right.

Car will get drivin till the house sells and then I will sell the GS for what I am in it total which will be around $2000. Its just free transoprt till then.


The real car I am gonna ret when the house sells wont be a Mark as well. I aint saying what it is but the hints are its a factory twin turbo V-8, all wheel drive, 0-60 in under 4 seconds and tops out at 200 mph and has four doors. Car that when new a few years back was $90,000 but can now be had for under 20K. :)
 
RS6 you say well maybe I think they are under 5 secs not under 4 but either way....interesting choice I love the 4 door performance cars

i think stock they are 4.2 seconds to 60mph, add a few extra lbs of boost and 3.9 seconds can be had, for very little extra $.

Chip is all they need to do it. Well two chips. One fore the engine and one for the trans.
