I know dinning is an issue as we are limited to certain resources here in the large metropolis of Boscobel ... but ...

I have contacted the Coffee Shop (just wait) who has as their cook a former chef from a neighboring town's finer restaurant (we are not talking short order cook ... Michelle would like this person).

We are working on the possibility taking over the place for one of our meals.

Discussion was Prime Rib and chicken ... I think I could keep the price down as the owners are very close friends of mine ...

Also .... Doing Pizza one of the nights ... would be nice if we had a pizzeria ... LOL ...

Why not have one of us bring Pizza up from Chicago Gino's East, Giordanos, and lou malnaties sell their pizza frozen all you have to do is put it in the oven. They make them right there then freeze them. all it would take is a cooler and ice and/or dry ice. I also think one of those places will ship it any where in the USA.

Nope ... Nice try ... by the time we cook all the pizzas ... LOL ...

But if the Coffee shop would let us use there convection oven we could ...

Funny you should bring this up now Rich.

I just finished prepping my dinner for tomorrow. and was going to discuss this in chat tonight.

Flat Iron Steaks, Boneless Chicken Breasts, bell peppers, and yellow onions.

Marinade the Steak and Chicken overnight in Coke and Fajita seasonings, and grille them whole. The peppers and onions cook in butter and seasonings wrapped in foil.

just need tortillas, salsa, and guac to make it a party.

It's SIMPLE to do and could be done CHEAP.

I could feed everyone there and have stuff left over.

I will get there early. ....True they do take a long time. But they are delicious.

I HAVE to make it to the 2012 meet. I have a bunch of Mark VIII parts, new ones, to get rid of!

Too bad some sorta pot luck would be hard to do also. Too much food to heat up I would think.

I like the idea of a pot luck yeah too much food to heat up. I still vote on pizza

Keep ideas coming ...

First we need to thing:

1. Members are starting to come on Thursday ... Not a problem and this is cool and fun.

2. I want to be able to keep costs down for everyone

3. I want at least one meal that is memorable and to add to the fun of the meet...

what about slaving over a hot grill its not memory making. thanks guy. :) now thinking about it wasn't. go for a nice set down dinner.jd

Ill believe that when my chit turns purple and tastes like rainbow sherbet.

+1

Joe (my son the chef) has been giving me ideas that we can do right here.

So I'm sure that next year we'll have the eating thing all under control. Maybe no Double K's.

I'm thinking ... for early arrivals .... Brats and Burgers on the grill.

Friday is the day that we usually do Double K's after everyone basically has arrived. We could make Friday the night of the big cook out and have food out for as people arrive and are hungry.

Then Saturday - This is the day that we do the big meal. Now something that we haven't really done on the cruise is we could put a sit down dinner at the end then cruise back to my place for drinks and BSing.

someone say Purple? :D:D:D

i can just hear it now....flamesuit on:)

Idea!!

So anyone ever try to cook using engine heat? Maybe we could have a cook-off. People could make their own recipes and cook what they want but with the intent to maybe share a little. Then during the cruise the cars get loaded up. Afterwards we all compare our engine cooked "dishes" and sample some out.

Silly, but somehow It might be something fun/new to try. Just a thought.
