Well i dont feel like breaking any tabs when i try to take it off. Roughly where are the tabs that hold it in place? Any tips? tia
At the base of the hanger, pull the cover back and you should see a phillips head screw behind the cover. It's rubbery and flexible.
I don't know how I missed your post answering that before I typed it. Too many beers....
Actually I thought the same, but 2nd gen must be different, there is no screw plug cover or anything covering up a screw as you would think, and I was not going to screw mine up to find out. At least that is how mine is by just taking a glance at it.

I just interior swapped my 98 and it had the rubber cover and screw. You really gotta pull on it to get it to give. It will actually come all the way off leaving a white plastic hook with a screw in it.
