Just wondering if any of the g2 marks w/ the hid conversion w/ adapter have the same issue as me..It seems as though there is a slight beam of light that shines out the side of the lense, on both sides. Its going on a year and it's rather annoying. Do the oem ones do this to and i just didn't notice?

I made no adjustments when i put them in. Would adjusting fix this?

And if so, tips on aiming them on a mark?

Good to know i'm not the only one..Anyone else? And a way to fix it? Or is just the way it is?

I have the same situation, DLF delrin HID adapters and I have a 5000k kit from eBay and light looks as if escaping from each of the outer sides but over all I'm much more pleased than the OEM and yea I agree, since the OEM were not as bright we probably just didn't notice. Only problem with mine is that it is aimed to high but I will make that adjustment

All i've noticed that it is deflecting off the inside reflecter for the low beams. It's not sneaking through the outside barrier..Idk, we'll just have to deal with it.

Same issue with mine and I just don't care or worry about it.

take your housings out and remove the adapters and bulbs, i have seen a few times so far, people installed doug's rings and the hid bulbs wrong, and the bulb melts the delrin causing the hole that the hid bulb is in to deform and droop, causing the hid bulb to move to a new location. if you installed incorrectly this is most likely your problem, but you wont know till you pull them out and inspect them. sounds stupid, but i have seen it done so it really isnt that stupid!! mine are from doug and i have aftermarket hid's in my 97 and my light output and beam are mint.

At least one person, installed my adapters, and then tried just pushing the bulbs into them, instead of using my adapters to hold the bulbs in the housing.

The oem ones were so much less bright you probably just never noticed.

I just checked my old man's factory OEM hid on his 97 mark 8 and they do the same thing as my after market conversion so I'm guessing it is to do with the housing it self and not the conversion

ripped camel installed them wrong brandon, he screwed the adapter to the back of the light, then just pushed the hid bulb into the hole in the delrin adapter, since they fit tight it stayed, but it melted causing his bulbs to sag down a 1/4 inch and his beam was all over the map, but he also took his valve cover off with a hammer, so does it suprise you!

i have aftermarket h i d s and my own adapters i made and i havent noticed any difference from the original except the new ones are much brighter.

That’s the way I did it the first time and I dint look right to me but I still have to re do it, I just don’t drive the car so I haven’t done it. Just another case of cranial flatulence.
