Alright guys, long story short I've had my eye on this Mark VIII for over a year. It's been sitting for about 2 years! The car looks gorgeous. It needs minor TLC, Original owner is 79, his son just sold us the car. My father put up the cash so I told him I want him to enjoy it for a while until I'm done with my 97 & sell it so I can pay him. The car has no suspension issues, EVERYTHING works beautiful, only needs paint on the front grille, the lip under the driver side headlamp, headlamps need to be wet sanded, ash tray is broken, needs a ballast & the engine is filthy! That's it. Mostly aesthetic issues from a long time owner! I love the car & I'm looking forward to a long future with it!

looks like the clear is bad on the trunk too is it? its hard to tell from pics but my eyes tell me that car needs a MAJOR buff job! pretty cool find though, now you have 3 marks, are any of them worthy enough to get you up here for the meet?

Actually Jamie the paint is flawless, the car does not need any paint. It's just filthy as hell & I mean REALLY FILTHY! The car sits right under the path of Miami Int'l Airport's runway about a mile away so all the airplane soot falls on the cars in that area. I live a little to the South of there & on bad days I get some of that too. Tomorrow the car is going to get a wash, wax & shampoo! Interior rug & doors are dirty as well. That ol' man was simply not keeping it clean. Maintenance however was always done to the car.

The car is more than road worthy. I'd love to convince my father to go with me. Let's see if I can get him to come so that we take 2 Marks!

GMAN, I need to do some nice work on those headlights so it can look like yours!

i wish you were closer for some reason i love bringing 2nd gen headlights back to life, when i did the ones for rich he nearly crapped himself he couldnt believe how they came out, next time you see his 98 look at his lights, man they came out beautiful. just something about 2nd gen headlights i love cleaning them up.

Cuz its not a lot of work for a lot of reward.

For sure guys! I will definitely have some before & after... as for fixing before I continue buying? Well, I would honestly rather hear that my dad will keep the car. I've been dieing for him & I to share the same hobby for a while & this is the best opportunity! Him & I used to go fishing together but ever siec he became a commercial fisherman it's more difficult. I'm 31 & he's already 58. I want us to have a father/son bonding project. For now, he will start driving the car on weekends while I replace the parts that need replacing & paint the grille, etc... I'm looking forward to going to the car shows with him!

You ever going to start an exchange service like with Gen I lights? I did mine a year and a half ago but they are clouded up again.
