What happened? Well... Sit a spell and I'll tell you, since you don't seem to come around here much. And please, don't tell me how you're here at least once a week. If that were true, you'd never have made that statement.
Now then... what happened?
Well, it's simple, really. Young kids come across as Mark VIII, they like it, and they (or, mommy and daddy), buy it.
Then, being young adults, being aware of google & co., they search for Mark VIII mods. Of course, due to Joey's (that's the guy who owns LvC) SEO skills combined with how busy LvC is (post wise), LvC pops up on the first page on google.
They click on the link. They notice how active LvC is. They get excited. They have big dreams of turning that Mark VIII into a car they can smoke their buddy's Camaro with, or of pulling 10 second quarter mile passes. This in itself is fine. We all should have aspirations.
But, then they make the big mistake of just posting questions. Why? Well, there are two reasons:
They are either too lazy, too incompetent or too damned entitled and think the world owes them answers on a silver platter.
So, they start posting about how they got this Mark VIII and all the stuff they're gonna do to it. And... they start asking questions that have been covered so many times, the regulars are sick of answering over and over. You see, they think they're the first who have thought of these things, or the first who have run into problem "xyz". Then when they are told to search )most of the time in a nice way), they get all sorts of huffy and Internet Tough or they leave. Very seldom do they hang around. After all, they have no one to cater to them, be it for whatever reason posted above.
And that, IMHO, is the ultimate reason why "we" don't out a lot of "welcome to LvC" posts in their thread. Not to mention, most of them (like this guy) don't post their first post in the "Welcome Forum". There is a reason why we have a "Welcome Wagon". Care to guess what the point of that is?
Now, to be fair, not all the n00bs that come here and just start firing off questions are kids. Some are full grown adults, and that makes it worse.
