Broken Bolt and a Throttle body- HELP!!!

Okay so i was redoing my IMRC and after i finally get everything finished i run into a small problem. upon putting the air intake tube back into place after having it on and off a couple of times. the bolt broke off in the throttle body. I seriously need to get this thing fixed and pronto. Someone suggested using easy outs but the though of drilling right there and all the shavings going into my intake kinda scares me. also can those bolts replaced. it almost seems like i would need to go to the junk yard and find me a new intake tube. I do not want to have to pull this intake all over again to fix this problem. so please if anyone knows any good tricks let me know. worst case im looking at is trying to find a new throttle body in good shape and swapping it out. but that will be a last resort.. right now its wedge closed with a rock wrapped in a towl stuffed under the lip of the car deck and the bolt its self. god i feel so ghetto and i feel like im just gonna end up bursting into flames too.
 
Is the remainder of the tail end of the bolt still protruding out the back side of the TB/manifold? If so grab it with a plier and screw out the back side.
 
I had the same problem all I did was use a GOOD STRONG shopvac and stuff the TB full of rags then use an easy out and redrill the hole tap it and find another one to put in it's place. Worked for me no problems!
 
no the bolt isnt sticking out. its broke off down in the hole. ..


Keatonsdad. was it really needed to retap the hole. and did you have to get a new intake tube or were you able to replace the bolt all together
 
If you have a small enough tapered center punch, notch a alignment center point and use a small drill bit and then use a easy out. If you take your time, you should not damage the threads.

just gotta take your time.
 
Also, if you use a solid grease like bearing grease on the drill bit while you are drilling, the slivers and shavings will be caught in the grease and not everywhere you do not wont them, no need to use a vac or any other appliance to catch the debris. Just dip the drill bit in the grease, and drill, pull out, clean, and repeat.

Just go buy a cobra intake..."when you break it break it good then fix it right".

that might sound like a plan. it would have to be late tomorrow or this weekend sometime.

i would first start off by taking painters tap and covering your throttle body, then try using an easy out

that bolt is not entirely necessary for the vehicle to run...I know mine has been broke for 4 months.

its sort of important.. mine came loose, intake tube came loose, mass air sensor was way off, drive ability went in the tank, and overheated and stalled soon after.

i have had no notable problems other than symptoms of a tired fuel pump which were present prior...driven a trip to Chicago and Panama City since the bolt broke...
 
when it breaks inside the intake tube, you need a 1/4 inch drive ratchet, and an open end wrench or channel locks, you have to hold the part inside the tube with a wrench or channel locks, and use your ratchet to break the two pieces apart.
