MoTech Spacers Installed

Weather was nice today so I got a chance to put on my Motorsport-tech spacers. They are 25mm hub and wheel centric spacers which put my ET at a 35 haha. And yes you don't even have to ask, I have some rubbing issues I need to work out. Also they give the car a much more aggressive look

I've run into a little issue with the 8 spoke wheels so if anyone has used these spacers with them please PM me. I know several members had in the past but I don't know if any current ones do

Bring a rag or two next time you do dirty shots, and you can clean it up for the photo after you position the vehicle.

Also experiment with turning the wheels in some shots, show a 'pose' rather than a 'park'.

But that is a cool graffiti scene!

I normally do but this was all impromptu. I just happened to drive over this underpass and thought it looked like some good photo spots might be hidden underneath so I decided to stop

So the spacer fit gen1 rims but wouldn't work right on the 8 spokes?

Don't get me wrong I love the simplicity and the looks of the 5 spokes. I've just grown tired of them being black and the type of attention it brings to my car. That and the snow tires make them look awkward.

I know members in the past used the spacers with the 8 spokes but the lack of pockets on the backside leave nowhere for the old lugs to fit into. Shaving down the original lugs would work, but I don't know if thats something I really want to do or not.

I think it looks good. The winter tires do seem a little on the big side, but eh, still looks good.

I used rattle cans. It's very cost effective and when you get a chip or nick you just respray

If you are on the fence and do not want a permanent paint job, you could try it with Plasti Dip first...lots of guys have been successful using it on their wheels.

Ii love this look, I've always liked the oem 5 spokes and now its clear how the look in black except I'm doing a flat black powdercoat

That looks great. I have a question though. Wouldn't it be possible to machine a spacer and just use longer lug bolts, instead of having to bolt on a spacer then bolt the wheel to the spacer? I was thinking that you would be able to accomplish the same results with less lugnuts. No?

In theory that would work if you can find longer ones to fit on your hubs
