Back in the game. My LSE thread

^ Lower ball joing connected to the control arm?

Sorry for any newb questions I'm new to the LS suspension and personally have not had the chance to take it apart and check it out yet.

Thanks I'll check it out tomorrow its a real annoying and unhealthy sounding clunk

That "Famous clunk" cost me alot me MONEY but in the end it kind of worked out i changed lower ball joints, struts, tie rod ends, etc. in the end the noise was still there , but not as bad, i started reading here on Lvc about the same issues other members were expering and lead me to the sway bar bushings replaced them with grease fitted energy suspension bushings, there are 2 of them on there, in the end my Ls is very quiet over bumps and handles like a dream:)

^ Whats different from the sport suspension except the struts themselves?

And for the famous clunk. Should I just take it in to the dealer until they fix everything until the noise is reduced or stopped entirely? The warranty would be serviced at a Lincoln dealership

Right now I have a clunking noise going over bumps on the front driver side of the car. At first about 3 weeks ago it wasn't very loud at all and wrote it off as a bad strut. But now the sound has moved more towards the passenger side as well. Leading me to think it might be more than just a faulty strut. Any opinions before I just schedule a warranty service instead of replacing the front struts myself?

I would like to hear your clunk in person because I replaced my sway bar bushings last summer and have a clunk and looseness at freeway speeds coming from the passenger side. I physically checked everything out and can't see anything that looks wrong.

Thats the thing there is absolutely no looseness in handling. I would recognize a sway bar issue fairly quickly. Coming from the lowered world it sounds like a blown strut and as someone mentioned a loose ball joint possibly. The clunk doesn't happen over big "swooping" bumps but more sudden "impacts" from the road. Leading me to think its a strut or something that reacts to the "impact" vs the "swooping" motion.

I have the day off tomorrow so I'll be popping the wheel off to take a better look. I'm also going to take it in for a service diagnosis and check all my front suspension at the dealer if I can't spot it myself. Might as well take advantage of the warranty.

If its under warranty let them fix it i know that they dont sell just the bushings themselves and the sway bar that they sell its almost like welded in and the sway bar is at least 300

Check your wheels studs......I had a clunk on sharp bumps, and it turned out to be a broken wheel stud.

Just looked through almost 30pages of the picture thread and didn't see one set of rims I thought looked good on the LS. I like the Jaguar Sechos (Sentas lol) I think they're called. Only thing is I would never want a 20" wheel. 19"s look great but I haven't seen a 19" in 5x108 I thought really fit the style of the LS in the right fitment.

Maybe something like that but with the center painted the same color (maybe a little darker) as the rims on my LSE.

Different subject, what do you think if I painted the lower "grille" portion of the front bumper to match the lower portion of the LSE upper grille? I could get the color code and match the color exactly. I know a really good body shop locally who would love the challenge.

Im in the same boat as well dont like any wheels really but the sentas but i dont want 20's

I say the grille looks better with the center painted black, both top and lower grilles.

19" Sentas would look great too. ^ And I actually prefer gun metal to just plain black as far as accent coloring. I like the color changing qualitys of gun metal like on the grille and somewhat on the wheels.

Put in some 4300k LED lights in the rear surround. I like how it looks actually but might try to find a more white bulb. I actually want the factory license plate bulbs out of the new GS350s. Perfect color

^ I was wishfully speaking. I love your wheels but I don't really want a 20" wheel. I was just saying 19" Sentas would look amazing as well

aahh, and i know what you mean. 20's are a bit too big. 19s would be ideal, but unfortunately...well you know

Haha yeah.. everything doesnt always work out the exact way you want.

I like those TSWs I posted I think the 5 spoke really fits the LS lines well.

i respectfully disagree...but again its a preference thing.

and it also depends on what perspective you take.

looks vs performance vs ride quality vs whatever
