Front End Squeaking

If there is NO slop in that joint it's not defective, regardless if he got his little hands dirty. Some of MY parts get like that sittin on MY shelves. I've got TONS of rotors and pads and shoes and bearings, seals, hubs ect ect, some have been on the shelf for years, and yes, if it's not coated in a rust-preventer it WILL get surface rust..humidity does that to steel, it's a common fact! Once it's installed on a vehicle it is subjected to far worse conditions, which make that bare steel rust even more. I'm not defending Arnott or whoever he got it from, but it WILL rust some if left on a shelf for a while. It doesn't mean it's a bad part, it just means it didn't get rotated in stock

If that part looks OK to you, you are blind, and are no mechanic, it has rust under the boot, meaning it's not good, since that causes binding.

Well these pics are in two seperate threads and the parts are new when you look at them, the surface rust is from sitting in a humid enviroment (warehouse) and as it shows with side was facing up with the surface rust on one side. The dark spots on the inside of the boot is from dried up grease also. Those joints are not used. Like I mentioned in the other thread, it comes down to Arnot quality control and the lack of understanding of rotating stock.

For you to say Sapper is not a mechanis because you fail to see what is really going on here is a misjudgement on your part. After reading alot of his threads and entries you must know that statement you made is incorrect.

And do not get me wrong, I would be disgruntled myself after receiving those in the mail also. But I would just clean them up and repack them and carry on.

My "little" hands dirty? I don't know if you think you are talking to some noob, but my "little" hands belong to a 315 pound man who has had as many blisters on my hands from hitting the weight racks as you will ever get working on cars. I'm the type of guy that bought your friend an engine so he would not have to be without a car, and I expect nothing in return just because I wanted to help. Be a little more respectful next time.

The parts should have been in the box new and not sitting on some shelf with uncontrolled humidity rusting the sh!t out of them for a number of years. The boot is already separating in places on each, and the grease looks hard from sitting for years. I don't need to have these on my car, have my family in it and have it fail going 70 MPH down the road. If they are fine, then fine, let someone else have them. I have had conflicting reports telling me that they will fail within 6 months, and that is when completely new and not sitting on a shelf for years. At this point I will bite the bullet and send the units back and get Moog like I was going to do in the first place. At least then I will know for a fact that the parts are good.

Forgive him, too much sugar and no safety meetings so he is cranky.

i cant believe how rediculous this :q:q:q:q is getting here seriously? all this drama over control arms, 3 god damn threads all in a row.

I have not once mentioned your name or anything about you Jaime. I am a grown man and make my own decisions about what I purchase. This is between me and Arnott and has nothing to do with you.

no i wasnt saying anything about that i just mean all this crap about control arms in general, nothing about me i know you didnt say anything i just cant believe that most of the mark VIII section is all disrespect, fighting, arguing, its just sad to see the site like this thats all. i understand the way you feel about them parts its understandable.

I think a lot of us could use a break. I already suffered a serious income reduction when my wife lost her job in October, now my company is getting bought out and we might lose our contract which would put me out of work.
Some of my anger might be coming out in ways that it normally would not be.

By no means did i say they look beautiful or even brand new. That's why I asked for you to slip off that grease boot and get another pic please. Dried grease won't damage it, you -could- just wipe it out, reinstall the boot and carry on.
Sorry if I was offensive, I've been dealing with TOTAL morons ALL day.. The last one, even thou she was drop dead gorgeous and goes to Baylor, took the cake. Brought in a BMW that i worked on last week, pulled in my lot brakes squeekin very loud...she had her p-brake applied and was driving around, came in yellin about her crappy brake job...rofl
Anyway, like I said, they look long shelved in a non-climate controlled area. Grease will jelly like that after a week or so in dry heat. It won't damage them, but if it were me, I suppose I would be pretty bothered by the look of them too.
Whatever you decide, I hope you get what makes ya happy.

Context goes out the window when poeple try to prove a point.... I was speaking figuratively about the situation. My statement generalized to make the my point, it wasn't a slant against him, but sapper came in here all "pro-mode", making obsevations and talking down. I don't take that sh*t kindly. This is a forum of equals, I treat all the same, and I was the first to feel for him when stuff was going bad, but I'm also going to be the first to talk back when he starts to act like an ass. I have no problems with him, in truth I thought he was a pretty good guy as far as internet strangers go. I respect his knowledge, I just wanted to make it clear, that UCA doesn't look right, and people have ranted and cried over much lesser issues. I'm sorry, regreased or not, that wouldn't be a part that would see my car. There is no such thing as dry heat in Florida where those things reside years on end.

Sapper: I understand your side of this, and I apologize if I bordered on disrespect in arguing my stance. Truce bro? Can Bill hug you for me and we can make-up?
