I have an after-market harness wired to my stock harness. Now I need to run the ACC wire somewhere. It's the blue wire running from the stock harness right?

Yea yea... ok. Now, there are two grounds on the amp. One static the other the GND. Does the GND cable need to be a large cable or can it be 12g cable? I have 8g going to the amp. Don't have extra 8g. Just 4 G. but I was going to use the 4g for the ground to the car.

Also, the amp has a remote, but my carputer does too. Do I need to splice the remote in for the amp also? Idunno? hmm

Both my amps are grounded to the car with 4G. I wouldn't use anything less for power or ground.

Not using a bunch of power. There is no sub. Low watt speakers. But, I'm pretty sure I want the ground a larger gauge than the power. Where did you ground your GND in the trunk?

Never use a smaller ground then the positive feed. Geesh.

The amp has a remote? Do you mean remote turn on? If so it gets that feed from your source unit. If you meen it has a remote bass knob then you dont do any splicing and use the dangded knob.

If you have 8awg for power then go buy some more for ground. Dont wanna have more then 400 watts RMS on 8awg though.

I was going to use a LARGER ground wire. 4g vs. 8g power wire. As far as the remote. My carputer has a remote turn on and also the amp has a remote turn on. I was wondering if I should splice the remote wire and attach it to the amp as well as the carputer.

Maybe you should come by my house next week and let me help you with this. :D

I have both amps grounded in the tub, just above where the spare tire mount is. I drilled through the metal, grind around the hole to see solid metal on top and underneath car. I used a 1/2" bolt that was 1 1/2" long and washers. Once I got it tightened, I spray primed and painted underneath to prevent any rust from forming.

Like Laser said, if you use 8G for power, use 8G for ground. No need for 4G with what you're doing. There are also other places for grounding but where my amps are placed, that was the best place for me to use and hide.

Maybe I'll do that greg. I pretty much have it in though. All I have left to do is mount the screen which is going to require a bit of epoxy to mount it through the dash. Got it figured out just don't have the epoxy.

Right now the setup goes like this.

8g (fuse) back to distribution block. 12v broken out to 12v power for carputer,12v power for lilliput screen, 12v (8g wire) broken out to amp. 12g wire from all speakers back to amp.

Ground is also on a distribution block. So, ground back from carputer is on the block along with the ground from the Amp, then that block is going to be grounded to the car.

Just need some more 8g wire for the ground back to distribution block and from block to metal of car.

Ohh.. and remote from HU area back to carputer along with a USB plug and 2 other wires in case I want to do something later.

EVERYTHING is soldered (heatshrunk if you can see it).

I have 2 problems as of now. 1. epoxy 2. The fuse inline with the battery ended up being in the trunk. Need that in the engine bay.

I mounted everything on a MDF board with black carpet ( they were out of grey and looks kinda nice. ) thinking of putting some white led's in the trunk w/ a switch for fun over christmas if I have time.

I'll post pics for you guys tomorrow if I'm sick and stay home from work. ( I've been doing this w/ a temp/runny nose, etc. Had to get out of bed after 2 days...was restless.)
