My DD, decided it wanted to throw a fit today..
I have had no major issues, today however, coming to a stop, it started to go into neutral, then it jumped back into gear, I got to work, check the fluid, it was a quart low, probably from the dipstick o-ring, anyway, I add it, take the drive home, 48 miles one way each trip. anywho, on the way home I go to pass someone and it did a neutral drop hit gear and tore the tires apart,
Get home check fluid, its proper level, and when I shift from drive to reverse, its got a second delay, then engages, going from reverse to drive same thing I was under the impression its normal.
I'm concerned about the big neutral drop,
Could this be a solenoid? if so which one would cause this? TC lock up Solenoid?
line pressure? or shift pack?
Oh one more thing, there is very slight whistling sound it seams when I shift from gear to gear D to R or R to D normal?
I may have access to a trans out of a 93 if he still has it, what do I need to transfer over to the new trans to make it hook up to my 96? or is it a straight up swap?
