Alright, this is it, I need to make up my mind soon so that I save up accordingly! The chrome on my wheels is bad. All 4 wheels are chipped, peeling, etc... I've been taking my car to local shows & the wheels are embarrassing!

Either A, I sand the sh!t outta the wheels, couple coats of primer, couple nice glossy coats of black & a few coats of clear.

Or B, Send the wheels to be re-chromed which is waaaayyy more expensive!

There's also option C:

All 4 wheels are 9 inches wide & I don't like how wide they are up front, I will trade a pair of my 9 inch Cobra wheels for a pair of 7 or 8 inch Cobra wheels... This would be great for someone that has a thinner set wanting wider tired at the rear!

a

i painted mine with duplicolor wheel paint and clear and it can be expen but cheap compared to getting re-chromed.. Alot of work to paint them imho.

Powdercoat?

have them sand blasted and powdercoated. if you got them to me i could have all 4 blasted and powdercoated for about 100 bucks. i would powder them gloss black

WTF?!?!? Wow, now.... how to get these to you! :D

I start a new (well funded) job on Nov. 1st. As soon as I got 2-3 weeks of checks rolling in I'm cleaning out my truck bed & headed your way on a weekend! Might as well take off my headlamps, trunk lid emblem & other little stupid things wrong with my car that I know you can make new again! I'll pay you upfront upon arrival! :)

How long did the chrome on your rims last? How many miles/years? I'm just curious? I would have thought they would have lasted forever in Miami (no salt)? Unless you live right on the ocean?

One of the reasons I'm going with painted rims again is I've had chrome Mark VIII's wheels (10-spoke and 20-spoke) and they don't last on the snow belt.

What size are the wheels> I am looking For 2, 17 by 9 wheels to mount drag radials on to.

They are indeed 17x9's, however like I said, I will trade only for the same type of Cobra R's (17x7's or 17x8's)

Ken I bought these wheels w/tires from a TCCoA member about a year ago. He told me they needed to be chromed because they are about 5 years old & saw 3 winters on his Mark VIII.

they sell the 17x7 on ford racing for the our bolt pattern, i bought a set a while ago and sold them to a friend of mine, they came up on craigslist several time. check out ford racing and see if they are still available, you also bye them individually. good luck.

I'm next in line to slap him silly if he doesn't get on that deal...no one cuts me or they get slapped first!

Ok, read above ladies!:D Trust me, I already slapped myself, then asked my g/f to slap me! $100.00 is a HUGE deal for me right now being that I make sh!tty money + I'm getting married so every penny counts! I WILL be doing this no questions asked, however I can't do it now. It's IMPOSSIBLE!

Why would you spend $ on getting married?? Just curious, always seemed a waste to give the government money for a licence to live with someone for a title...in Texas we have "common law" , I still claim her as "spouse" on our taxes ....so what's the big deal

Hey Jamie, what would be the turnaround for something like that if I shipped my wheels to you?

ultimate SVT,

food for thought, a pair of the 17x7 Cobra R's are on sale on www.Sccoa.com under parts for sale, hurry before someones snatches them!!!!!

My g/f's parents want to do things the right way, if it was up to me, I'd exchange vows in the Keys at sunset with 20-30 family members & that's it but her parents insist that it must happen the right way!

I happened to see those just a couple days ago. Have you seen the original post of those wheels back in 2006? The wheels are about 5 years old & he's asking $600.00. This means my wheels must be worth $450! I remember I purchased my first Cobra R's for my 1995 T-Bird for $600.00 brand new!
