I applied a ton of epoxy around the HID cover (the cover with the 4 tabs behind the hid light) because I was told that is where the condensation comes from. It still is condensing ridiculously even after fully covering that part.

So what other parts need to be covered to stop the condensing?

anywhere the clear plastic seams are

if they aren't air tight water can get in

Tell me that you really didn't use epoxy on this cover.

Have you ever heard of Permatex?

How are you going to get it off if you need to change a bulb?

If the cover seals are in good shape, a little dialectric grease on the seal surface will help keep them from leaking.

Does your headlight is now perfectly seald, INCLUDING the breather hole? Congrats, you'll never get it fogless...
The only need of thet cover is not to make water come on the built-in high voltage transformer of the "native" 9500 lamp. The lamp itself is perfectly sealed, it has a rubber ring around the mounting plate, like in gen1, where there is no such cover and nobody has any fogging problems. From the other side, your "handmade" rings does not has any sealing, and now you have a problem to make this plastic cover perfectly sealed, what has nothing to do with it's factory construction, and can not be so easily made...
(there is another issue with that placing of aftermarket lamps - no one of the lamps, 9005/9006 at first, does not fit correctly, the burning arc is not the same place as factory one, so what the light have you got?)
My opinion as that we must not try to be smarter then the atomotive engineeres that made our Marks, try to understand the idea, and make something alike.
PS The only bulb to place the arc in place can be D2S/D2R, according to dimensions from www.donsbulbs.com .

i used crazy glue, the one in the purple bottle.......cause it comes with a little brush, lol.............

it glues fine, seals fine, and it can easily be taken off with a small screwdriver, and just being careful with the rubber seal.......ive had them on for 2 years now, no water has ever gotten inside the housings............

oh and if you have to, silicone works perfectly fine for the rest of the housing...........

not epoxy...........

Why not epoxy? It will stick to smooth plastic like the housings better than silicone will.

On the perimeter seal between the lens and the housing, yes. But NOT to seal the HID cover.

oh, yes, I agree. I had it stuck in my head that it would be just the lens to housing... ;)

derek is a retard he calls silicone epoxy, he used clear rtv not epoxy they come right off if you twist still, i know because i fixed his defective dlf ring melted hid install lmfao.

dlf knows the joke, its not a defective ring!

No, I wouldn't say "dumb" idiotic maybe... But he's got a contender with the guy who pried his starter out

The converter guy? A contender for sure, but he can't win unless he has to swap engines. ;)

You guys are cold blooded. Ripped is not dumb. He has a thirst for knowledge. We were all at his skill level at some point. I think he deserves credit for wanting to know how to do everything we all so to our cars. He may do some silly :q:q:q:q now and again, but at least he wants to learn.
