Angel eyes (Order #1)

Nice work there man. What did you use to hold the plastic (that goes over the side marker) in place? Do they just snap into place?

Alax is the man.

The amber one is held in place by 3 or 4 pins it has molded to the back of it. On the other side of the reflector is a metal piece holding it in place and has 4 holes where the amber refletor goes in to.

For the clear one, I just place it on the edge of the benzel and used clear silicone on the back side. I only put a small, thin line of silicone around the very edge of it so you wouldn't see the silicone from the front. I just re-glued the metal piece in place after the reflector had dried.

How are you controlling the angel eyes? Do you run them off of a switch, or tie them into some existing circuit?

I have mine wired to the parking lights. White wire on the rings with black/WHITE wire on the parking light harness, brown wire on the rings to the black/BLUE wire on the parking light harness.

They turn on if you turn on the parking lights. If the parking lights are off and you use the turn signal, that side ring will flash with the turn signal. If you have the parking lights on and use the turn signal, the rings wont flash. If you have you headlights on, your parking lights are on so the rings are also on. They will also flash when you lock or unlock your car which is real cool at night.

The people that I have done the install for said that they wanted it the same way, maybe they didn't want to worry about wiring it themselves, but thats how i've wired the ones I've done.

You can do a switch to them. You can also use a relay, but I haven't used one and they work great. I also tried wiring them to turn on with the puddle lights, that was cool but I didn't take my time so ran into problems.

That is what I was thinking...but do not know how I feel about them being on all the time with the headlights. If I were to do it I am torn between tying the rings into the parking lamp or the fog lamps.

Honestly you don't really have anything to worry about with them being on for long periods of time. I pretty much drive with mine on all the time, night or day. And they are fine. I have been on 8 hour trips with them on and they fared well.

Plus, the eyes + fogs looks hella sexy!

The LEd angel eyes are rated at 100k hours, should outlast the car. If you dont want them to be on with the headlights then wire them to the fogs or just run a switch to the inside. I like it when they flash with the turn signal, makes people do a double take and laugh because it looks like the car is winking at you. I think it's cool
