Wheels for the chamelion.

I've got 255/35-20 tires on my 20x8.5" 42mm offset rims. They only rub barely in the rear if I hit a big bump or dip on the top rear bumper cover corner where it meets the 1/4 panel. They don't rub up front or anywhere else, though I did shave the upper ball joint stud that points down flush to be sure it didn't touch the tire when I get on it and the tire flexes etc. I also rolled the upper rear fender lip, but it never touched it so it was a waste of time I found out (though with a rays switch or slammed right to the ground without rolling it, it would have rubbed on the rear by the 1/4 and bumper area I mentioned above)...

98lincmk7lsc, I really like that black/black fr500 look, very nice, did you get those from Brad? :)
I like those bullits to in the 20's another great look if they match the car :)

:)

I have been yold that the 20x8.5 with a 35 mm offset will be fine. What do you think?

I just got off the phone with Terry the guy who has the blk LSC with the 20's on it.
He could only tell me that the wheels are 20x10 on the rear and 20x8.5 on the front. This car has a Cobra hub swap in it as well. He bought the wheels from a place called Wheel Replicas some where in the US and they are supposed to be 2005 and up Mustang offset.

Hope this helps, by the way he offered me those wheels and tires for $800.00. I might have to really consider it and do the hub and brake swap as well.

Any opinions on it?

Cobra calipers: $260
Cobra rotors: $120
Front hubs: $100
Rear hubs: $300 They are not the easiest thing to find. Has to be 99/01 Cobra hubs or else you have to get new half shafts and 31 spline trac lok cause the 03/04 hubs have a higher spline count.

Just food for thought.

Now that I have more time to write I can explain a little further.
I am going to be doing gears and a trac loc this winter but I have already been checking the car out since I bought it and trying to plan ahead.
Now I live in the Great White North and this car has been driven in the wint er but not any more. I had the rear wheels off as they were on the wrong sides when I bought the car. I also remember reading a thread on LOD when Driller I think took his car to DLF and the half shafts were really rusted out. Well mine are as bad if not worse, there is no thread left protuding from the hub itself so I have already located a pair of factory NOS half shafts and I am going to buy those anyway. So the plan was to do the gears and new half shafts along with new rear bearings so If I bought the wheels I would go the extra mile and search out a pair of hubs in the process.

Laser, thanks for the intel on the year of rear hubs I need if I go this route but my only other thought is how will these black wheels look with the Charcoal Green Metalic paint? Maybe I can talk to Terry and go set the wheels against what is on the car on one side take a picture and post it for opinions here.

Oh yeah, one other thing, I would not go with the 31 spline stuff because as SVO said leave that to the guys who need it and are making the power to warrant it.

1Bad4.6, I hope the info was helpful for you and good luck with the decision. I feel the pain!!

All years 99-04 rear Cobra hubs are the same on the hub side = 28 spline.

Huh, learn something new every day! Thanks. I was under the impression the 03/04 was 31 spline on both ends.

Why is that KK? What about just getting the hubs drilled to the 4.5, is there an actual size difference between the hubs?
