So I'm taking the dash out of the parts car, and while it's a pain in the ass, up until right at the end it's manageble (keep in mind, I don't need to drive the car, so while frustrating in parts, there isn't any hurry to get it done).

The last wire bundle that comes off the main wire harness trunk behind the dash goes down into the transmission (I'm guessing, it enters the drivetrain hump right in front of the shifter). But instead of just running the line behind the dash and down, they snaked it AROUND one of the lower dash brackets, then sent it into the hole in the floor.

I mean, really.

nice isnt it!!

Goddam.

I had to quit at that point. I didn't have the patience to get under the car to find out where it was connected.

I just don't get why they did that. No reason at all for it to be wired that way.....

This is why I'm sticking with my black and grey two tone. I'm not even about to mess with the dash. I now have black door panels in but not pictured yet. Also have a black message center in too. Just stuck that in the other night. I need some updated pics.

From the little bit I can see in that pic it actually looks pretty good with the two tone! That might be an idea for mine too. I'd hate to lose my graphite/cordovan seats though.

fun stuff, make sure you pull the harness out entirely just so it knows who's in charge, and make a funny face while you're at it

in retrospect, removing the shifter would have made it a lot easier :(

Not much easier, that knob is big, but the upright stays there. I broke the bottom of the hvac bracket getting it up and over the shifter.

How much work is involved disconnecting that last wire bundle from the tranny? Is it pretty easy to find, or am I looking at doing some unbolting underneath the car also?

BTW, your garage looks just like mine atm....:)
