I want to eventually color match my side skirts. I can either paint the stock ones, buy gen2 lse skirts to color match, or buy gen1 lse skirts to color match. Color matching my stock ones would be the easiest and cheapest way to go, but the finish would not be as clean or smooth as the lse side skirts.

What side skirts do you guys think looks better with a gen2 lse bumper, gen1 or gen2? Gen2 look close to stock except for the curveture in the center of the gen2 lse skirts. Gen1 skirts have more to them, they widen at the ends which looks cool, but does it flow with a gen2 lse bumper?

I hope they dont mind the borrowed pics. :shifty:

Gen2. Gen1's flares are a little to much for me personally. I like the smooth look

Yup gen1 LSE skirts are goofy.

everything about the gen2 is better... YEA I SAID IT!

Also I will eventually get the gen2 skirts as well.

Yeah, I'm 50-50 on it about the gen1's. It came to mind because a guy 20 min from me has a pair of gen1 side skirts for sale and I dont know if they even sell gen2 side skirts alone, they dont have only the side skirts for sale on lsk, only them with the whole kit. Guess I should ask ken or max

Yea, call one of the online dealers, I am sure they will ship out just skirts, I doubt they get many requests for the whole kit, so they are pulling bumpers out of alot of kits im sure.

Out of those two of course Gen2 LSE.

But I don't think there is a enough of a difference from stock to pay for new ones. The body shop painted mine and they look like they came that way.

(sorry for grainy picture - my camera sucks...)

Overall, i like the side skirts and the bumper cover Gen 1s come with, but since you already have the Gen 2 LSE bumper cover, you should go with the matching side skirts( meaning Gen 2 sides). It will flow better.

The silver LS in the first picture (gen 1?) doesn't even look right with the Gen 1 side skirts and Gen 2 bumper cover. The bumper cover makes the nose on the car look small compared to the rest of the body.

Tht actually looks real good.I for got you had done color matched them. I forgot who's I saw that came out kinda of grainy so I started thinking about the lse skirts instead. Did the shop paint them with them on the car or you took them off and left them there?

I left the whole car, they took the front and rear bumpers off and the side skirts and painted them all. My front bumper was rock chipped bad and the rear had some hit and run damage on it, I figured might as well get the rest. I'm not sure of their exact process but they did take everything off. I assume they scuffed the side skirts and other black plastic then primer sand paint and clear.

Also if your gonna follow the theme of LSE only, then you have to replace your rear bumper too. Which is just more $$

I think that the difference between the Gen2 and the stock painted is not enough to spend the $$$$$.

just my .02 cents.

Yea with enough coats of primer, the roughness will be obsolete, but the LSE skirts still match better IMO, they have the same little indentions as the front LSE bumper.

I'd paint you stock ones or get the gen 2's. I had my stock ones painted when I got the gen 2 LSE bumper, and love it.

True, not looking to spend on a rear bumper when I just got a new one

Yeah, it's looking to be that way. If it comes out smooth it'll be worth it. I just didn't want to have the same texture it does now and not be smooth.

Well atleast I thought about this one first and not jumped on it real quick. You guys are saving me money, I should pay you :shifty: ;)

thanks guys.

Sand the texture off before painting if you are worried about it. Although, the textured surface would probably be ideal for preventing chipping from rocks.

Off topic, anyone know what brand hid kit 02v8sport used for his lights? I like that pure white look. I bought some 4700k bulbs from ddmtunning and they seemed white with blue.I didn't really like that, 5000k is suposse to be pure white but if 4700k already has blue than 500k would have more, but maybe it's just their bulbs. I want pure white

Same as mine. Umnitza. Although, he got the 5000K color.

oh yeah, thanks. Maybe it is better to go with a better brand if you want accurate color matching.

Alex, I have 02v8sport headlights on my car. I purchased the whole system lights and all, except for the high beam bulbs. I will have to let you look at the car at night so you get a better view in person. Let me know.

Cool, thanks. They are not HID headlights right? They are halogen?

No, they are HID's. Just like what Ray (o2v8sport) had.

They are the stock HID headlight?
