Hey guys. 6 months ago on November 9th, 2009, I wrecked my car:

It was a long painful process of getting insurance to cooperate and also finding parts as I wanted to do the work myself. It took finding a hood about 2 months itself. I did all the repairs myself, minus the actual painting of the hood/bumper.

Just this past week I got all the hood and bumper painted (finally). It turned out to be a harder process than I thought, lining up the hood was a huuuuge pain, it seemed to never fit right, It took me alot of cutting, alot of pounding and alot of sweating to get it as close to original as I could. And let me tell you, doing this alone really sucks...

Mounting a hood by yourself is next to impossible. It took me a while to get the hood to fit down, at first it was sticking up on the left side, and I had to even up the gaps with the fenders by pushing them in etc, after a wreck, the body gets tweaked in ways it will never be the same... I got it as close as I could and I think it turned out pretty good, it feels nice to have done it myself, no one believes me when I tell them I do all the work on my car, especially after seeing it now - when I drove it around wrecked for 6 months.

Anyways enough chit chat, no one is probably reading this and they skipped to photos, so here are some progress as I did the body work:

Here are the finished results, excuse the half-assed wash job, I was rushing against daylight to take photos. And yes I know the wheels wells are filthy, I need to spend a good amount of time cleaning those suckers, they are stained red. lol

Thanks for looking. I will have better photos tomorrow probably. I need to clean it up some more (the wheels wells kill me). I am getting a paint correction session after next month, so I will take some better photos then as well.

looks amazing. Bring it up here. I'll detail it for you.

Thanks guys. It took way longer than I wanted, but I think this end result is worth it.. I am in love with my LS all over.... for the hundredth time lol.

I may just have to take you up on that pektal, I need a good road trip, and a LS meet & a detail would be a good incentive, plus the furthest I've ever taken my LS is about a 4 hour trip.

I dressed the engine as well, but I did not take any photos for some reason, I will take more though. Also I found out I lost all the little clips that hold in the plastic above the radiator/headlights, and the ones that hold in the cowl. I zip tied everything down until I can find some more pins and the other stupid sh!t that is holding the engine plastics down.

Well done! Major kudos for doing all that repaid work yourself.

Oh and pektal this photo is for you!

Thanks for the help, this stuff sounds exactly like what I need!

If I go get in a wreck will my lincoln turn into yours?! haha, looking good buddy. But seriously happy you are not hurt or injured! (that I know of)
Good sh!t

Good job man looks sick ,im glad you took my advice and fixed it yourself..

Looking good man. I'm next in line just need to stop being lazy and go ahead and do it. Who did your angel eyes for you?

She's a beauty man!...couldn't tell it was ever in a wreck!

DUDE!!!!!!!!! Where have you been hiding this sexy beast of a car. Looks awesome. Those wheels looks so sick with that drop. April LSOT? It'll be a tight race man.

I'm about to head in the same direction. Going to order my lse bumper tom maybe. LSE spoiler is in.Working on my rims shortly. Angel eyes installed hopefully this week since I'll be on spring break, that is if I get my car back from the shop in time.

Oh and about the lse bumper. Did you paint the grille opening? I dont know if to just leave mine black like that or paint it black to protect the plastic from turning gray and fading cause of the sun.

Thanks guys. I took some more photos tonight but I only had my phone, so the quality is terrible. I will get new photos soon though - I have to remember to take my real camera instead.

And Alax, yes the lower grille is painted the same as the body color - I don't think the sun would fade the material the bumper is made out of, unless it is on there for like a very..very long time. But you might as well spray paint it black yourself to give it some type of protection, plus I think leaving it the ABS black plastic may look tacky. Also, what is your car doing in the shop?

Oh and I thought I would post this, as this is my LS the day I brought it home:

Wow looks freakin beautiful!!! That bumper makes the LS perfect especially the gen 2. I prefer the look of gen 1 front over the gen 2's front but with LSE bumper LS goes to another level. Very nice. Great job! Great choice on the wheels too.
