Nice!! I have some cut-outs just never installed them yet.. And where did you order the box?

i actually found a guy on ebay who makes custom boxes to fit. ive been looking for a long time at prices and fits but this looked the best, so we shall see...

Where are you planning on installing the cutouts? way back or up by the cats?

I've thought about getting some and putting them right before the rear axle or right before the muffler if there is room.

Nice. Looks like you went with the custom box after all.

How do those swtich pipes work, I forgot the name. Are they suppose to leave the normal exhuast open when you open those so having 2 exits? Or you switch from one or the other?

the box ran me 170 shipped from east coast and i live in cali. i know the guy wont charge shipping or anything if you come pick it up and it will then be 135 which is really good for a custom box.

right now my exhaust is open right after the h-pipe thing and i absolutely love the sound just not for the long trips i make sometimes. so i will probably put them there which is about a foot or two before the rear axel basically right under the back seat.

the switch pipes i got are called quick time performance (qtp) electric exhaust cutouts, i believe to be the most popular and well trusted brand. they allow you to basically run unrestricted exhaust when you want but also when you want (being in front of cops.) they allow for stock exhaust sound/flow through the stock muffler and resonators(i think thats what they are called). this is all done with a flick of a switch inside the cab which im still looking for a good mounting location for that switch......

Pretty cool idea with the exhaust. Install pics is a must.

Also let us kno how that box works out.

for sure will do. i still need to find a spot tho for the wires to run through into the cabin any one have any ideas? or am i going to drill and hope not to hit anything lol.

Through the inside of the rear bumper like where the vent tube is, into the wheel well, into the trunk, and into the cabin?

I'd go through the engine bay and try to fish it along one of the existing wiring harnesses through the firewall. Then it is right in the dash where you need it. Of course it depends on where the cutouts are located. I'd want to get the wires inside the cabin quickly rather than running them along the bottom of the car for any distance.

Ya the wires/cutouts are going to be right under the back seat basically and i do want to get them up into the cabin as fast as i can so im thinking maybe coming up by the vent tube but im still not sure at all. Also i was thinking of maybe just following the fuel lines as well but i dont know where those run exactly.

What kind of subs are you going to put on that box? What system set up are you going with?

right now i have two new pioneer 12's and a soundstorm amp with a 2 farad cap. im just going to keep this system but just just move it over to this new box. before i had a bandpass box with earth quake straps bolted up to try and keep it from sliding around:shifty: but it still didnt like the fast corners or hard accel or deccel lol. i also have my trunk lid and trunk dynomatted. but hopefully this new box will give a much clearer look....

that's pretty sick. OP, can't wait for some sound clips. does this mess with the ECU at all? also, that is one sweet box. i was considering doing a fiberglass box exactly like that but for 1 L7 kicker, problem was the L7 was too tall at 15". that isn't a bad price either considering you paid for shipping form the east coast. great buys

no it doesnt mess with your ecu. ya the box was such a good find imo. i didnt want to make one and custom boxes were hard to find plus really expensive so we shall see how this turns out.

btw.....k&n fipk is in my car took longer then expected to put in but works i guess. makes a whooshing noise at times which is pretty cool lol.
