Help please!

If you want one that will work and last call max.

If you want to keep replacing them get a NAPA one.

You get what you pay for.

ill pay as little as possible as long as theres a warranty..the warranty is the catcher for me, no lifetime warranty, get it cheap and buy 2

I would only buy OEM or a PA for mine. I had PAs before and they were solid. I dont need one in my Lincoln as the stereo only has a single amp and its sub section is class D anyway so I am not taxing the charging system.

Not smart.

You will be somewhere and it will die.

Now you get to pay a tow charge and bring it in to collect on the warranty.

Yeah, or you could get an OEM one and have the same thing happen but without a warranty. Less likely to happen, but more :q:q:q:qty if it happens. My Duralast Gold is doing just fine.

Yep you right...less likely to happen....I think Max said two he has sold over the years were bad.
Thanks for proving my point.

I would go with the odds every time.
Half the time when you go to vatozone your lucky to walk out of the place with the right one.

Like I said you get what you pay for.

If you don't have $200 bucks, then maybe you should drive something else.

That has to be the stupidest statment ever spoken on here, not everyone on this site can just pull hundreds of dollars out of there azz at the snap of the fingers. I know i couldnt, but i guess i should have thought about that before i was laid-off and had to file bankruptcy right???? I should have planed out the lay-off before i bought the Mark 8 right??? Even though i had the Mark 8 over 7 years before it happened??? It doesnt matter what kind of car you drive, sh*t is going to cost hundreds of dollars to repair. I have put 30,000+ miles on my 115.00 Autozone Alt after my factory one took a sh*t on me, those of us that have to drive or cars as DD's have to do what it takes to keep them running this includes buying parts from Autozone, Advanced Auto or O'Rileys.....i for one am not stupid enough to go wasting my cash buying parts from a Ford dealer. Now excuse me while i go pick up my Autozone rotors and pads.......:shifty:

You think your the only one here with problems?

You have no idea.

I don't have money flying out of my ass, but I will do what it takes to keep my car on the road.

Buying quality parts will save you time and money, its a fact you can't seem to get a handle on.

A Mark VIII is not a cheap car to own and upkeep.

If you can't afford it, sell it and buy something that you can.

And tell me whats that is supposed to mean??? Because the cabinet industry took a sh*t and i lost me job because of it Im a retard because i did the only thing i could do?!?!?! I stated you a retard because of your ignorance about aftermarket replacement parts....

If you handled your fiances right, you would have been prepared, I hope you learned something from the whole experience.

I have been working on cars a long time, buying cheap parts will cost you more in the long run.
If your trying to get by until you scrap your car.....fine.

But that does not mean its good advice for someone who is planing to keep, and drive their car.

We had thousands saved up but when the work days are cut down from 6 10 hour days to 5 8 hour days then 4 8 hour days and having 1 week shut downs turn into 3 week shut downs what are you supposed to do? Isnt that what savings accounts are for??? I have also been working on cars for awhile too (around 14 years now) and my experince is the cheaper Autozone parts will last for a very long time if the car is taken care of. 90% of the reman parts are factory parts to begin with. Sure ive had trouble out of Autozone Alt's before but they have a warranty on them. I could really care less what most people on this board say about this subject, ive been helping repair cars my whole life, my father was a mechanic for 33 years and i am currently attending college for auto repair myself and taking the ASE's as i go since theres very few shops around here that hires non-ASE mechanics.

You mean to tell me you went threw this whole ordeal and you have no idea what you should have done different?
You didn't learn anything?

Wow that is a hard one to swallow.

Life is full of lessons, if you don't learn from your past mistakes you are bound to repeat them.
Your in for a hard life my friend.

Fourteen years is a good start. :D

WTF good is a warranty when your dead on the side of the road?
The money you saved you now can spend getting your car towed home.

I could really care less what most people on this board say about this subject,
Then don't post, It is really that easy.

Wow, unbelieveable. Who cares, everyone has opinions about what's best and what they SHOULD put in their car, but in the end it's MY CAR and if I want to put a Duralast Gold alternator in my car, then it's MY problem when it breaks down. No car is cheap to own or maintain. I just had to fork out $211 on an alternator for a 93 Geo Tracker that isn't worth what I paid on the alternator. It's a solid runner and has never steered me wrong though. Sure, we all want to have the best of the best and we really do value all the opinions and suggestions from everyone on this board, but just because some people don't have the money to buy the top shelf stuff doesn't mean they love their cars any less and that they don't deserve to have them. We love these cars and we do what we can to keep them on the road, would you rather that everytime someone broke down they just called the junkyard to haul it away instead of doing what they can to fix the issue even if it doesn't live up to your standards?

I don't care what he puts in his car.

jrherald420 is scraping his car so he can put the motor in a mustang.

The only point I made is you get what you pay for.
If you can't afford the car, sell it and buy something you can afford.

I won't advise anyone to use cheap parts, it not a standard.

Its my opinion.
