Go for the gears/trac lok. IMHO that and the tune are the best bang for the buck on these cars.

No you cant have my pump but I am wondering if I get any performance increase by simply bolting in a more powerful pump. Seems I remember reading the stock setup is good for 350 RWHP and I am no where near that.

It wont get you any power over a stock pump that is working properly but if its the original 12+ year old pump with who knows how many miles on it you can bet it's getting weak.

Cool, I will give them a call. How random they are in Colorado, this state is sparse when it comes to good auto service.

Just send him a e-mail, you will be lucky to get any help on the phone.
Tell Todd, Kirk sent ya.
Tell him you will pull out the third member bring it in, he just needs to trac lock it and set up your gears, ask for price, he has set up hundreds of rears with gears ;)
Go 4.10s
Pull the Diff out with the one wheel method, its a snap.

Nice, it is always nice to be around other car nuts. Their shop is about 90 min away which would be worth it for a good install. Also helps be more at ease since I am very anti-shop...prefer doing all my own work, but setting gears I don't like to mess with.

Also found a 93 one piece local I am going to snag later this week. Will need one anyway, and I can score it for $80.

Take the 93 shaft to Front Range Driveline Inc.
Get it balanced ask for Brian Percival.
Tell him Todd set ya :p
I think they are in Sheridan,CO
That is the only mistake I made when I did mine.
I get some vibration above 115 MPH.
Front Range is Run by brothers and there father- Drag racers a great family they wont screw you.
When he is setting up your gears install a new 255 walbro fuel pump.
You have to do some fab work to get it in there but nothing major.

Damn, how many people do you know out here?

When I threw in a 93 one piece in my bird I didn't balance it and it was smooth up to 130mph...guess I just got lucky.

If they race supercomp supergas superstreet or quick eight at bandimere I probably know them or have met them.

Racers are a close group.
Haven't been out to bandimere for a few years.

I would have Brian check it...if its balanced he will tell you.

the 255 install isn't bad... we did a 255 pump, 4.10's, and 93 driveshaft in one night... btw one wheel method FTMFW!!!

I remember how much of a PITA it was doing the driveshaft last time. So it is probably a good idea to do it all at once. Didn't help I had the gas tank resting on my chest, and it was a full tank too...sucked having to bench press it back into position. This time I am doing it on a nearly empty tank.

Main issue will being able to get the diff up there since my Mark is my only car. Guess I need to bribe one of my friends of brother.

Agree the one wheel method makes life so much easier. I swapped in the FRPP pumpkin last time, was a pretty quick job.

Yeah but is yours all fancy and say "LaserSVT" when it starts up? :p

glad to help a member out. it will be sent usps just so you know.

Forgot all about that, 4.30's might be a little steep for me though. 4.10's were about the max I wanted to go. I do about 300-600 miles of highway a month, and 600 city.

I sold one of my extras to Chris... it says SRT4's SUCK when you turn it on :D
You sir are my mother f@cking hero!

Yeah IMHO (here starts the war, the thread will never be the same) 4.30 is way way overkill. So is 4.10, thats a great gear if you spend 60%+ on normal streets and dont need to travel at 70mph all day. I do 90% of my driving at 70mph or higher and 4.10 just didnt make sense to me. I really wanted 3.55s but let everyone talk me into at least going 3.73 but I have yet to install them. I look foreard to seeing what they do though.

I do more city driving than long distance. I also planned on 3.73's, but if 4.10's come up for the right price (like now a set has) then I will jump on them.

4.30's would be a blast if I never really traveled long distances, but I do on a somewhat regular basis. I usually cruise at about 95 on the highway since I get long stretches of open road, so I don't want to be buzzing down the highway.
