Ok so here is the story. A little under a year ago I put new bags and solenoids in the car. Now last night I came off the freeway and my Mark aired up the rear bags but not the front. I pulled over and shut it off, turned it back on and all was good. Went to start the car this morning it aired up just fine got on the freeway again and when I got off it would not air up. Once I got home I tried the shutting it off and turning it on again thing and nothing. Went out to my car about 2 hours later and turned it on and it aired up. Any ideas on what could be going on? Im thinking the compressor is just getting really tired and cant lift the front of the car, on command, like it use to.

could sell ya a height sensor for 15 plus shipping or all 3 for 55 shipped

It is not the pump relay, if it goes bad there will be no rise at all and you won't ever hear the pump. The pump could just be getting weak or the front bags are leaking a little. I have found many of marks front airbags that only leak at a certain height, The computer has a programmed set time of lets just say 30 seconds, if the car does not get to the height it times out so not to burn out pump. I would just flip the switch off and drive it around for at least a few days or week, the car should not settle at all, if one corner goes down, you found your leak, I have also had 2 new arnott pumps that just could not put out the volume, until I put a different piston in them.

Well it looks like its does not leak air at the curb height. Lifted got it to air up and shut the air ride off, she stayed up all night and even driving around. So today I let it sit and if I am informed correctly the height it sits at is the trim height that its at on the highway. We will see how it does at that height. It looking right now like its the compressor just cant put out enough air.

still not convinced..........the air ride system airs up the front first than the rears, so it would try to lift the front than time out, its 90 sec, and the rear wouldnt do anything. so no air ride message, and the rear lifts, does look like it could be a sensor problem or the air ride computer itself

Here is what is happening exactly... When the front was on the ground the compressor would come on, run... you would see the front come up just a hair then the back would air up... then the front would try again. After this it would time out and send a check air ride message. It came up well after everything cooled off and worked.

I then aired the system up and shut off the air ride and all was good, it did not leak. When I got home this morning I turned the air ride on and it "sat" down and stopped right where it should "sit". That's what leads me to believe it could be compressor and not sensors. But who knows... Maybe I should shake a dead rubber chicken over the car and do some dance and this whole air ride thing will make sense.

I have personally actually changed 3 air ride computers on mark 8's, when all else fails and the codes don't make sense it is usually the air ride computer. it is easy to change. the first time I wasn't sure so I swapped it from a buddys car and it worked. Now I just keep a spare one around from cars that I have converted to spring, Which is what I recommend anyway, spring it and it will handle like its on rails, you can get spring conversion in standard and lowered .

Ive never looked back from the spring conversion.....and sold all of my air ride stuff to pay for it all but shipping even with a burned out compressor!!!!
