YES!!!!!!!! Ok, where to begin, I've been keeping an eye on this Diamond Anniversary for about 4 years of which it's been sitting since 2007. The car is beautiful! Has 100,798 original miles. What was wrong with it? Well, initially, nothing really, the guy was NOT even selling it. About 4 months ago I left a note on his windshield & one on his apartment door. I WANTED THIS CAR!!! He doesnt' call me back until 3 weeks later & proceeds to tell me that the car isn't forsale but if he has to sell it he would do so for no less than $1,800 or so (It's well worth it) but I told him to think about the price he's giving me & that the car has been sitting for EVER & to call me if he can lower the price. I NEVER heard from him again.
Saturday while grocery shopping at Publix my cell phone rings, i look at the display & I was shocked, it read "Flagler Diamond Mark" as I had saved the number on my phone, Flagler is the main street where the car was parked. I answer the phone & on the other end is a VERY desperate man eager to get rid of his car for cheaper than the previous mentioned price but I must take it TODAY as he's not spending a dime on the car & his lower control arm ball joint broke, as seen below. WTF?!?!?!?! I asked him if I could see the car, when I get about a block away I notice traffic slowing to a hault then look to the distance.... There I see my future Mark VIII completely blocking the right hand lane of Flagler Street right out of his parking lot. I was shocked but realized his urgency! I told him I didn't have the cash because I was unemployed but I offered to help him somehow bring the car back into his parking space. After 4 hours & some help from Marvin & my father, the car was back in it's space in no time. Several times while we attempted & failed backing the car into the spot, I would mention to the owner that he should really cut me some slack after I helped him bring the car back in since it was not drivable & that I had never worked so hard for a car that isn't even mine yet.... Long story short, towards the end of this ordeal, he looks at me, puts his hand on my shoulder & let's just say I made the deal of a lifetime! :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool

Today I had my friend tow the car (we blocked both East bound lanes but that's another story)... Brought the car home, purchased the ball joint, installed it & broke the car in by doing a nice burnout in front of my house! lol:D
Truth be told, because I am currently unemployed this car will be for sale in a few weeks as I truly can't afford to have 3 cars. I'm doing the title transfer tomorrow & since I got her REALLY dirty today I will be giving it a very nice wash, wax & detail. The car still needs some minor things, I am definitely keeping the chrome wheels, putting my stocks on this Mark, the car needs refrigerant & a radio since the one in the car sucks. Other than that the car is great. I'm looking forward to enjoying the time I will have it though. It may be the last time I own 2 Marks at the same time. I will shoot better pictures in the next few days!

Congrats on the find. Too bad you can't keep it though.

dont list it on here seeing as how much you paid for it.lol.. but that was def a great buy. congrats.

That ball joint could have been a much much worse failure.
I've seen them completely KILL the fender when they do that.

you/he got lucky.

Don't be a bitch, I'm unemployed and I have 6 cars :p

I'm proud to be a BITCH! lol... Nah man I know what you mean but life in Miami is EXTREMELY expensive! I'll hold on to her as long as I can but being that I already have my black Lincoln (with a broken tranny) I could use the money to get my black one rolling again.

is that a easy fix?

You mean was it? I picked up the car & fixed it all done yesterday. It was a 4 hours deal with not so good tools, much faster if wtih airtools

Congrats on the great deal...I will give you $300.

DEAL! lol...

I wont post the car forsale here as we all know the offers will be very low but on the streets in my neck of the woods I can get upwards of $2,000 for it.

I took some pictures this morning which I will post tonight. I'm on the road so I can't upload now but I promise I will.

Id figure that you'd have pictures up already...lol!!!! that is one nice looking Mark you've gotta take some day time pics...maybe ill bring mines around so we can snap them together. About the story? that was a PITA good thing for my jack if it wouldnt had been for it....i think that Mark would still be sitting in the middle of Flagler. BTW nice grab man you really did that guy dirty but hey like they say, "You snoose you loose"!!!! lol!!!

Actually if it wasn't for your jack I think the car would either be at the junk yard like he said he would do or I'd still be under it backing it up inch by inch! lol... Thanks dude! U are truly the man!

As for pictures, I'm uploading some now but we definitely need to take some with your Mark included & we need to hurry because I already have a friend interested however he wants to join the LVC lifestyle so he'll be hanging with us if he buys it.

dude! your wheel is on backwards..er um i mean sideways

Actually thats no longer the case, those chrome wheels are now on my black Mark. I just finished doing so right around 8pm tonight.

are you saying that white car in the picture is a diamond anniversary?

Yep, it said it on the title & on the car fax as well.

Alright guys, here are more pictures taken this morning before hitting the road...

Funny how neither cars are drivable. My black one with a broken transmission & the white one I refuse to get a tag for it. (It's still wearing the former owner's tag)

Those wheels are no longer on the car, they are on my 93.

all 96 licolns were tagged as diamond edition.

that doest mean you have THE actual diamond edition model though.

and i may be wrong, but there were actually ZERO DA'S produced with saddle interior

By the way, Jamie.... Any pointers on how to make those headlamps just a bit better? Tomorrow morning I'll be painting the black wheels from my 93 back to silver & once I'm done I want to give those headlamps some life, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

dang i was just being a smartazzz, i didnt realise the wheel indeed WAS backwards..AND sideways

lol

i hate to burst your bubble but the only diamond anniversary's that were made were either silver frost, or cordovan red , no other colors ever. its very easy to know, do your seats have a red stripe across them? do the rear quarter windows have the words Diamond Anniversary in the glass? its not a diamond anniversary, the only way it can be is if someone repainted a real one white, because they didnt make it. if the leather seat doesnt have a red stripe its not a diamond. i had a real diamond this is what they look like. and now that i see the interior i know it isnt tommy is right, the diamonds only had light graphite grey, thats what made it what it was, same as the diamond anniversary town car or continental whatever it was, same deal, light graphite grey leather, and either silver or cordovan red paint.
