I am sitting here laying out all my parts for my brake swap tomorrow and noticed that the threads on the new banjo bolts I ordered from Maxx are course thread and the calipers are fine. :(
Apparently only the late 03 and all 04 Cobra calipers are course. My question is does anyone know if the stock Mark ones are fine thread? I just dont want to go pull it apart and look then discover I need a fine threaded one. I would like to know ASAP so that if the stock ones are not fine I can go down to the parts store first thing in the morning. I want this damn conversion done. :(

Actually only the red 10th anniversary calipers have coarse thread banjo bolts.

Mark VIII calipers have fine thread, but not sure if it's exactly the same.

I searched for a long time and couldnt find what thread they are. The bolts I have are 10x1.5 and the calipers need a 10x1.0 but I couldnt find what a damn Mark has on it. :(

Confirmed. Bullit calipers are 10x1.0 banjo bolts. Marks and late 03-04 Cobras have the same 10x1.5mm bolts. Earlier cobras may also run the 10x1.0 but not positive.

You CAN NOT get 10x1.0 anywhere other then a dealer. All the parts shops sell the ones I ordered from Maxx. :( Just gonna have to have him send me some with my new air strut on Monday.

I got two sets of banjo bolts with my lines, coarse and fine. I got lucky it looks like.
Good info to know for others that may try this in the future.
So did you get them on yet, or still gathering stuff?

Yeah, I bought the 10th anniversary ones and bought the course thread bolts to go with them. I couldn't figure out why the rotor/hub wouldn't turn once they were installed. It turned out that the course thread bolts that I bought with the calipers were barely too long and would push on the caliper piston and tighten it against the rotor keeping it from turning (as if the brakes were applied). Luckily my Mark VIII bolts were the same coarse thread, but shorter, so it all worked out. Wish I hadn't spent the $15 on the bolts though.

Previous post answers that.

I don't see that info in this thread, but ok...

So what I am saying in that post is that I can not get the bolts anywhere here this weekend and will have to wait untill Monday to order the correct bolts from Maxx.

So no, the kit is not on as I do not have the parts. Yes I am still collecting parts.

Yeah I as paranoid to start the brake swap because I didnt know what banjo bolts to get... went to the ford dealer ordered them for the car the brakes were for. Put the brakes on and went to put the lines on and the banjos didnt work... I was pissed until about 30seconds later when I realized the mark viii bolts work great.

Aw man I wish you lived here I would come get them from you..... that reminds me, a friend may have the right ones. Gotta go text him.
I just really want them on there.

Icarus, thanks. I am just itching to put them on. Had to do a quick stop yesterday and was reminded why I wanted these so much. Just unreal how bad Mark VIII brakes are. :(
