Ordered my first mods last night

That must be a 93 shaft then because 94 is a 2 piece.

Driller's pic showing the difference:

KK, it was at the front of this thread. I have a one piece shaft in mine. I don't have what's pictured on the right and I guess it's because it was built in Oct 93, idk.

I just checked that other place that was listed on the first page and found two in Dallas for $50 and a couple in Austin for $45 and $70. Figure $30 for new joints and id be good to go. Gonna make some calls tomorrow and see whats available.

When I searched that crap in my area, I came up with nothing but mine does not have that gap in it like the one pictured above. $80 average for a shaft and joints is a damn good deal. Way better than going aftermarket for all that extra cash.

Screw Rice, sorry for hijacking your thread with Koolaid. Thought it was Lasers. I'm just used to his threads I guess. :)

I did find "my mixup" with the words about shafts.

Try car-part.com.
I found 4 93 shafts all under $75 bucks in my area.
Put one in my 97.....works great.

and then KK came in and said

So you are saying I undercharged ya :D

Now how I got that he said he had 3 for sale, I have no clue but I would have bet my life on it that he said that. KK, have you been editing

I checked that link again and did find all kinds of 93 shafts for $50 and $75 within 60 miles. I must have searched it the wrong way. I'll go look for that gap again but I know it's not there.

Not to get back on topic or anything.........

Rice, did you get the brakes yet? Post what you think of them when you get them. Thinking about these for my 93.

The rears showed up last night. Should have the fronts show up today. Depending on when they show up, I will try and get them on today or tomorrow. Has been a bit cold lately too, but not too big an issue.

So I got the front rotors in last night, and just finished installing them. I had to fight the front, since not only were the old ones stuck from rust, but also ice. Said screw doing the rear until tomorrow after fighting the front for over an hour.
Did the break in procedure just a few minutes ago. They seem to work well, except when I fully stop. If I ease it down to a stop like normal driving, no issue. But if I put a little peddle into it at the end it kind of shutters at about 2mph. Thinking it might just be the pads and rotors getting broke in, hopefully. Will report more when I go out in a few.

Edit: That's right, my floor jack has flames, bitches!

Dont do that! :fuss: With these rotors and I assume you got the ceramic pads then break in is very important. You do a couple hard stops and the pads will glaze then the rotor glazes and thats it. Gotta pull them and shave the pad with some sand paper and have the rotors turned. Looks identicle to the rotors I have. I have seen several different slotted/drilled rotors out but these seem to be fine.
I will be selling mine with newish (9 months old) calipers next month for cheap if you end up glazing yours too bad. :D

I only hard stopped under 5mph trying to figure out what was up with the funky stop issue. Just got back from a food run and they seem fine now. Shot up to 45mph and then hard stopped and they worked great.
