Do the cobra centers fit the mark viii? How about the half shafts? What is the widest wheel tire combo with lowering springs . I dont mind cutting the fender lip. I found some nice rims at tire rack that look good on the view on car feature, but Im reluctant to get them because they might be to far set in from the fender. They are the ELBRUS 105's. They look killer in 18 inch. I know they are cheap and wont last long, but the factory wheels are killing me. What is the factory wheel offset ?
 
they changed to 31 spline in 03-04 the half shafts wont work.

the one i have is 28 spline and fits/came out of my 95 mark 8 in my sig file

shipping is always the deal breaker.
it aint worth shipping this heavy mofo across country

cheaper to gather parts and build it locally than to worry about purchasing mine.
 
The cobra center will fit. I am running one howerver i believe the cobra shafts are 31 spline vs the mark's 28. The gears and center are the same but not the diff.
I think the stock wheels are 38 offset.
 
Thanks for the info. There are a bunch of mustang shops around here , so it would be easier to get parts that fit this beast from mustangs rather than hunt for a supercoupe or an xr7 in a junk yard. Did any body check out those wheels? Has anybody ever put a set on a mark? Im thinking of doing 16 in front and 18 rear.
 
man i'd love to have that cobra center :) We don't have any reputable shops around here that could do a rear end..

How much shipped to 65802? :) (Never hurts to try, does it:P )

If its 75lbs and fits in a 24X24X24 box it's 46.98 ups ground
102.02 for 3 day.

weight and dimensions are approximate...

I said before I'd sell it 600.00 plus shipping.
If shipping was 50 or less I'd sell it 600 shipped

keeping in mind that I really wasn't actively trying to sell it

The Terminators are 28 spline on the outers from the factory. The VIII hubs will work.

hmm that begs the question if cobra half-shafts will work? are the the right length? becuase if they do then I'll just get a cobra center section that will work with off the shelf aftermarket 03 - 04 cobra shafts and there are plenty of options out there (expensive as hell)
 
You could go the cheaper/ more economical route and find a t-loc explorer irs carrier. They were 31 spline I beleive.

How many miles on this thing ? How many qtr passes ?

Warp 6.7 Your question makes no sense. :rolleyes:

Marks have yet to break a half shaft running under 600 rwhp because the TC takes most of the impact. Hell my Cobra had 500 rwhp and was launched excessivly hard many times with no issue. Only reason to get a 31 is if the price was right while doing a rear end swap or if you are planning on making over 700 hp..... in which case you need close to 10K just for the engine.

I bought a set of shafts from Cardone for 60 bucks per unit.
 
Fyi the cobra went to 31 spline in 01 and
with shafts its a direct bolt in I should know

Is it a NEW center section, NOPE
has it been in a car for a long time.. YUP.
has it made more passes than any 3 mark 8's combined... YUP.

is is a cheap steal of a deal.. NOPE.

AM "I" actively trying to sell it.. NOPE

It does work fine, no issues when ran in a stock mark 8.
it was set up by a ford tech, which means it's set up correctly.

would it hold up to supercharged use, probably would need a traklok kit before I would put it in a supercharged car, but for a stock or near stock mark 8 it will be fine.

I would have no reservations in putting that center section back into service...in a heart beat, nor would I have any reservations about someone else putting it in their car.

and like I said, I am not trying to whore this thing out, I'd actually prefer to keep it.

So I'm not accepting offers, it IS what it IS..
you can buy it, you can pass on it.. it matters not to me, not in the least.
