As soon as some of you guys now, I am looking for a Mark VIII and being in Colorado, the pickings are slim. There has been a 96 for sale for over 6 months. Drove 100 miles today after being told everything on the car is perfect, except the paint. Bull:q:q:q:q! Paint is peeling on the roof, trunk, and bumper. Interior driver seat is worn to all hell, interior is dirty, chicken wire is in place of the grill, passenger corner marker is being held in with two home screws, and some other issues. Told him it has a lot more issues than I was told, and can't go near his asking price. Seems to think the basic deck he has in it, is worth something, and that his paying $2400 for a coil conversion, and suspension rebuild ads value. Told him, I was going to try and look at another one, and would let him know, proceeded to tell me if I left he would raise the price on me, so told him to keep it.

So I am pretty mad right now I wasted a day with this car, burned a tank of gas, and missed class.

I did find this one that is near me, and seems to be a real beauty, but a little out of my price range, what is a good price for this 97 LSC?

imho, if it has under 100k 3 grand would be a good deal if the blend door is good along w/ the suspension. Really need the mileage though

Left a voicemail, waiting to get called back. Will let you guys know, but wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be wasting my time offering $3k or maybe less.

''This Lincoln will out handle any Mustang on the road''

That thing you said about the first seller cracked me up. I can just imagine it: ''If you leave, I'll raise the price on you''

''Uh, Kthxbye''

What a douche.

If someone said that to me, I'd have told them to ram it 'where the sun don't shine'.

I was going to go look at that car for myself......................:D

We should get together and check it out this Wednesday. I'm not gonna buy it if your interested.

on the gen 2, he says 300+hp which is bull, has two different prices, wtf is air springs?(lols), no mileage, and didnt most mark 8's come with a 10 disc cd changer and not 6? im in CANADA and there is gen 2's selling here for 3200$ (proof) http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-ve...n-Mark-Series-Coupe-2-door-W0QQAdIdZ169911825
(this gen 2 mark 8 has a 10 disc changer =S)

Well The 98 LSC I have has a six disc changer not ten. I bought this from a lincoln dealer and asked them about that. They said the six disc was a dealer add when new. The dealer add ons are hanging on the left side of the trunk. I think its a six disc to allow more clearance in the trunk.

Is it me, or is that first 96 you looked at, a DA. Looking at the second pic on the craiglist ad, I see cordorvan inserts in the seats?

I noticed that as well.

At a ford dealership in Pittsburgh they have a 96 lsc red with 40,000 miles on it. Black interior sunroof but here is the kicker they want 6995 for it. It has the aluminum directionals they are not chrome. It's at woltz and wind ford.

Its a dealer tho, you could probably offer them 3500 and they would take it.

Thats a good point. Watch the car if it sits for a while go in and give them a low ball offer. I got like 4 or 5 K off what the lincoln dealer was asking when I bought mine 6 years ago. Salesman said it was going to auction in a few more days. If it's at a dealer they will deal if it sits.

Man a Red on black 96 whew one of the prettiest color combos made, I have a 96 black on black but have always like the red and have seen a dark blue with the black interior. And I an a hard core Gen 1 fan. If I did not have one and could find one with low miles and colors I liked hmmm would think hard about paying that instead of taking the chance it would be there in a few weeks.
