i am really thinking of putting a gloss black vinyl sticker all across my roof to give the painted black appearance. i do not have a sunroof and my car is ivory pearl. any opinions and can somebody photoshop this for me?

sorry this is the best pic i have of a partial roof. i know pektels got a pic i can borrow to get the idea, hes got hella pics.....
 
Will a sticker hold agaisnt agaist the sun? why not just paint it? You're talking about the whole roof not just a part to make it look like a sunroof, right?
 
well i wanna put the sticker on to see if i like it. its easily reversable as where paint is a lil more permanent. and yes the whole roof kind of like a mercedes.

I don't think it'll look right on your car. That Mercedes has alot of black accents so it looks alright, and you have alot of chrome. Also, I'm with Werner WTF?! no sunroof?
 
oh great so i got the short bus version of the ls......................... there is one in my neighborhood the same color as mine but its an 03+ w no sunroof. and the only chrome i want on my whole car is the rims. i actually want to give the inside of the rim a brushed look while keeping the lip chrome.
 
I think it will look allright. I have seen a lot of S class Benzs lately in few different colors with the black roof and they all looked really good.

And YES they all had chrome on it, so no need to black out your car.
 
i like the sticker idea, i know a guy with a 06 TL and he bought i rol of flat black vinyl and put it on himself, looks really good, his car is silver. and he was way glad he used vinyl instead of paint because not to long ago he was thinking about taking the tint off his tails and roof. so i say do it. it will look good with black windows.
 
Yes, the magnetic sunroof is back!

Gixxer, I love the look of brushed wheels but I dont know how well that works with chrome. Usually its just a polished surface and then brushed before the clear coat goes on.

i seen it done to chrome on stacy davids gears tv show. he used a red 3m pad thern cleared it. thats where i stole the idea

I would like to see how that turned out. I thought you want to go in a circular motion using a machine along the entire wheel rather than just scuff it in any direction.
 
Sadly, I don't have good pics of the roof.

But I had contemplated doing the same. I think it looks better on white than ivory though. That's what has kept me from doing it.
 
sorry jwerner i just checked his site and they have webisodes but only focusing on the main project. none show his little projects like that. and thanks pektel now maybe i can get someone to photoshop this for me
 
No sunroof here. I'm kinda happy about that. I've never had much luck with sunroofs in the long run.

I think the sticker is a great idea to see if you like it. There are a ton of places around here that would do it. Most RV graphics are vinyl and everyone in my town is an RV producer or supplier. Surly there's a fast signs near you that does vinyl wraps. Or, for shorter term just do an internet search for some and try it yourself.
