Don't buy any - fix what you have, unless it's no good and you need a car to replace it with?
 
Save the money - at some point you'll need it. I bet there are PLENTY of things on your current Mark that need doing, or things that you'd want to do.
 
actually im quite happy with my mark all i need is a headlight and itll be mint(besides water in baffles). i want my mark as a daily driver then have another lincoln to :q:q:q:q around with, yenno take to the track, drift etc. ive always wanted a mark 8 since i was 11 and now that i got one, i want to keep it stock to enjoy its true beauty. plus you can never have enough lincolns in your drive way
 
I just checked your gallery. Is your car a Nordic blue 93? (color code: DF) If, so, it looks identical to mine. What color is the interior?
 
i was wondering if you can confirm something for me, i heard that having the cargo net in the trunk was a rare option like the octostar wheels, is that true?
 
No idea? Mine has the cargo net and so have plenty of other Mark VIII's I've seen.

Octastars aren't that rare - they weren't available in 93 anyway.

Now, chrome snowflakes - those seem to be rare. (and I wouldn't mind those or the octastars)
 
From the owner's manual:

Your car is equipped with a programmable memory seat switch. This switch allows you to store settings for three seat positions. The switch includes three buttons marked SET,1, and 2. The third position is activated by pressing ''1'' and ''2'' at the same time.
 
oh my i guess i should read that thing eh? lol thanks, im guessing they didnt add a 3rd button just because it would clash with the interior or what?
 
Not sure why they did it like that - probably for simplicity and a cleaner look. Definitely read the book - has all kinds of interesting info.

Also, get the Ford service manual and the electrical / vacuum book - they are invaluable.

Edit: And, just say ''NO'' to Chilton!

Chrome snowflakes? New one on me and as for the cargo net, I think all Marks VIII's had them.

I've seen some. (once in 'real' life and a couple of times on the interwebz) Dunno if they were a factory thing or not, or even if they were available back in 1993? Jamie? LOL.

Haha, well if they're not factory, then they are uber rare! And... I want 'em! :D
 
I know that rim says chrome but it really looks like a very clean normal snowflake to me. Unless someone is chroming them, I don't think they ever came factory like this. If you have someone close to you that uses the Spectra Chrome, you could have a set done but I don't know what the cost would be. A friend of mine bought one of the machines and had about $17,000 invested with every option they offered and the chemicals for it. He offered to do my snowflakes for free but the hours for the curing process in between different coats were too long for me and I had my mind set already on the "Stars"
When he bought the machine, he had to go to classes down in Florida for about a week to learn the process. Where it all messed up at was that he had 2 or 3 others involved and then the business went under. He offered the machine to me for $10,000 with about $800 worth of chemicals but I didn't have anywhere to put that thing. It's not huge but you need the right ventilation and room to really use it right. All I can say is that the stuff is for real! You can have your grille done, chrome moldings or w/e. You can also make your own colors into chrome. I have seen it in action and it works.
