I've done some searching and like well everything because everyone has a different opinion, I was curious if there is any new takes on what are good brakes for our cars?

I saw that autoanything has EBC Green stuff pads available, but not red stuff. Has anyone tried the green stuff pads? I remember them winning awards when they first came out, just curious if anyone had any first hand experience.

Also they are selling EBC dimpled and slotted rotors. I know the majority say dimpled, slotted and cross drilled rotors are all hype but from working at Steeda I remember speaking with some of the guys that designed parts for their cars and tested them. They said the dimpled and slotted were far superior to the cross drilled because they weren't prone to the cracking, pad damage or any other issues. So the tech part isn't where I need knowledge....

Where I need knowledge is if anyone has tried the EBC dimpled & slotted rotors on a Mark VIII. I want to know how noticeable the difference truly is on our specific application.

Thanks guys.

I had greenstuff on my Audi A4 - those were great pads. I would also go with a set of slotted rotors. Cross drilled are prone to cracking.

Pad choice is more important than rotor choice. You could get the most expensive rotors ever but it wouldn't matter if you got crappy pads.

The first pads I put on the mark were greenstuff. They stopped very well but I get less than 15k out of them. This is with dual piston calipers though.

I had green stuff pads with brembo crossdrilled rotors, they worked great and did not crack. I loved the pads but when they get hot they smell like hell, I would only get the crossdrilled again for my wife's cars as she drives like an old lady. The mark viii will get dimps or slots and maybe the greenstuff again if the price is right.

EBCs are great but make noise when wet and dont last long. I ordered my x-drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads from BrakeMotive off ebay for $130ish. I have 25K on them and they still work excellent. No warpage or cracks, very low dust, much improved braking, way way better heat dissapation and they still have 70% left on them and I brake agressivly.

f that! I just read their terms and conditions and they state at the bottom "is not liable for any form of consequential damage losses or cost." Basically stating that by buying their product if their product fails and destroys your car, or anything else the only thing they are contractually bound to unless a court overrules it is to provide you with a new set of brakes. It even had a disclosure that they will either give you store credit or comparable brakes under their warranty not cash.

Sounds like a company that doesn't sound to confident in their product.

You may have had luck, but disclosures like that is a big red flag to me.
