who knows, it might have been the alternative to totalling the car.

alot of times those carriage tops will be put on a car that has hail damage.
Rather than totalling and crushing the car they'll still that GOD AWFUL thing on top.

its alot better if its the same color as the car....triple black....but then again the reason why i let me brother buy the 95 black on black with 44k miles?? Had a rag top...he likes it tho...to each their own i guess

+1

Old school vinyl tops look good on most of the cars they came on but carrage tops looks horrible especially on newer cars with aero designs(like the Marks)

I have an 85 Cadi Eldo that has the "Roadster" dealer add on package. It had the fake fiberglass convertible top on it. After 20 years of the FL and MO sun and heat it decided to come off. I was going up I-35 north, rush hour traffic, doing 65-70 mph when it let go. Lucky for me I was in the far left lane and it came off passenger side over to drivers side. A piece of chrome trim kept it from coming all the way off and sailing into opposite traffic. Pulled it off, folded it up, stomped it down, and shoved it in the trunk. This is the look on the lady's face in the lane to the right of me

Just not right on a Mark, color match or not, looks like schitt. I do like the convertible though, that is cool. IMHOP.

The convertible Mark VIII is a beautiful car!
I don't want to imagine the amount of chassis flex it has though.

And the rag tops were a dealer option too.
I've never liked them, but some people- particularly people born before WW2, think it "classes" up the car.

hey thats KK's car, thats what he has been doing recently, got the windows tinted and a sweet landau top!! panther edition C.E

here is a convertible for you. this car resides in maui hawaii, belongs to my friend dennis jones. he is a much older gentleman so it might not be your taste, but a gorgeous car none the less. only a handful of these convert's exsist, dennis put much money into his to bring it to this condition. lots of florida parts are in this car from me, including the gen 2 skins i supplied him so his guy could use them as templates to make the ones you see in the car, the foam is also from me from a 98 front and rear.
