Did you know the best TC manufacturer in the country is located not too far from where you live?

i would reconsider getting the convertor you mentioned above, and go with the local shop that can and will take care of your needs.

99% of the fast cars in houston are running circle d TC's.
 
with Circle D in your backyard I don't see any reason not to go there... not to mention their converters are the bomb!

When I pony up and get a stall I'm thinking of like a 4000.... or maybe even 4200....
 
you guys let your girlfriends and wives drive your mark 8's? I thought you loved your cars!:confused: my girlfriend hits everything. i have arguements over this with her and maybe one day she'll be like "let me check out that lvc website and see what those guys do" and then she's gonna see this crap on here and it will never end. thanks guys.:D
 
I asked my mom and my GF if they wanted to drive my Mark... they both refused and said they were afraid of hurting it... I laughed!

absolutley, and she's won alot of races too.
it got so bad we had to get her a car so I could get to race mine again.
then she won more races..and beat me a buncha times too.

With the 4.30's and small max performance summer street tires I launch off idle, roll into the throttle until I feel the tires hook and then go WOT. I have been able to do 2.1 60 foot times launching like that, obviously the car has a lot more in it than that.
 
I like to foot brake it at 2800 and nail it when the last yellow lites. Some times it spins a little other times it sh@$s and gits. It depends on the track prep and rubber down.
 
Sadly, I have no in car videos.

But if it's the stall you're worried about, you'd not notice it so much in my car. My F150 has a fairly loose converter for a stock truck, they drive very similar on the the street. Of course the Mark has 4.30s and I think the truck has 3.73s.

What I like best on the highway with the converter and gears is the extra kick driving through the twisties in the mountains. With a heavy right foot and some left foot braking, it's like a whole 'nother gear when you unlock the converter with a tap of the brakes powering your way out of an uphill turn. :D
 
Driller if you were going to do it all again would you go deeper on your stall?

You are at like 3700 right?

First I take off the tie down straps, then I unhook the winch hook. Next I back the trailer in so the water just comes to the top of the fenders. I hit the brakes hard so the car rolls off the trailer. Make sure you have someone standing on the dock though with a long enough rope so the front of the bumper clears the rear of the trailer rollers.

And of course, make sure you don't forget to put the plug in.:D

I originally had a 3500 stall w/ 4.10s. Now it's a 3800 stall w/ 4.30s. I would only go higher, say 4000/4200 if it was a dedicated track car with 4.56s.

I would love to find one with that combo for a test drive, but I think a 4200 stall may be too much with 4.30s and the 4.56 gears would be too much for the highway for me.

So is there a stock converter one should go for a everyday driver?

I agree with JP here. If you can live with more gear go for it though.

The Mach 1 converter has better hard parts but no factory converter will get you any higher stall speed that what's stock for the Mark.
 
Well I am trying to decide what stall to get.... I haven't made up my mind at all....

I have 4.30's.... thinking of maybe going even deeper like 4000.... but I don't know yet.

A Marauder converter is also another good stock converter.

I wouldn't rule it out.

That's right, go big or go home. I'm getting a 3800-4000 stall but only once my tranny goes out (knock on wood...)... The other thing you have to think about with a converter is the STR... the higher the STR the harder it hits off the line but you also lose some top end so you need to comprimise.

Thats exactly what my gf and mom say, wont even move it for parking. (especially after that bitch sister hit it!)
