i have a friend who cant find anything other than k & n and exhaust to do to his car. its an 02 v8 ls and its bone stock... can you suggest anything... and does anyone have a total for doing the sc .. i saw that there were alot of you that did the upgrade... thanks ...and not hard feeling for me being a buick guy.. hehe

SCT Xcalibrator is a custom tuning device. 15-20 hp was about average I believe. Send ILLS a private message to discuss prices.

The Supercharger will set you back I believe about 6000.

depends on what you are looking to modify
- intake, exhaust, suspension, braking, exterior, interior, ......

the link in my signature shows a few options...

sooo there or more cons... all .. than pros.. why did you link me to this

what??

i didnt actually click on the link, but im guessing that member posted that for you because this topic has come up lots of times. the answer is that there are not many aftermarket performance parts available for the ls.

ohhh... well that sucks... so does this mod actually do what it says. all the lower replies were all negative is why i said that.. he wants around 50-70 more horses and hes gonna do the k&n ... he doesnt need to actually change the exhaust pipes does he.. i think that a higher flow muffler would do just as well.. so if you have any little things to do that will help him out to find a few missing horses that would be great.

He can get the SCT, exhaust, and the intake tube from www.lskoncepts.com alone with a cone filter and possibly be close to a 50-70hp gain. The biggest thing you should take into account is the Lincoln does not have the aftermarket other cars have.

yea .. they are more for the luxury enthusiast/executive/normal joe who doesnt go for the loud exhaust and toupee ripping acceleration .. hehe at least you have a programmer .. i have to change my pcm to mod

You will be more like 45-50 hp max with the three mods mention, tune, intake with cone filter and exhaust on the 1st gen.

2nd gen tune and cone filter/tube, 30hp and will still have more than 1st gen with mods.

tune means everything! best bang for your buck with these cars.

On the 2nd gen 16hp with CIA and 14/15hp tune = 30hp.

But yes, the tune is the best bang for the buck because it increases the response as well, especially 2nd gen fly by wire throttle, with both gen, transmission performance.

2nd gen or 1st gen both get about the same from cai, tune, and exhaust. but he has an 02... so the throttle by wire isnt an issue. i know of one tuner that makes 1st gear launch in sst.... what a friggin difference for the first gens!!!!!!!!

all in the tune indeed, the sct burners on here are great, fast, easy, and reliable, but if you can get a dyno tune itll be even better and if you have intake and exhaust on the dyno im sure youll squeeze out a few more than your standard to be in the 50 to 70 range. side note i wonder if the faxt that ive gotta ruun 93 octane will make a few more ponies with a tune as opposed to 91... im replacing my coils with accels so between that and the higher octane id like to see how much i can get without pinging

There isn't much we can't do now - it's certainly do mustang/camaro/honda for aftermarket options - but there almost everything available. Prices are a big more expensive since the market is smaller - few choices.

hmmm, gears, stalls, cams, internals, turbo, sc, suspension, LSD/lockers, exhaust, tune, CAI, intake mani, headers, pnp heads, nitrous, etc

yeah pretty much everything CAN be done. The sky is the limit. You just have to be more creative and more willing to go out on a limb with these. Its not like the fox body stangs that parts can be found at any flea market or part swap, but they ARE out there.

yep - with all that available - people still complain there is no aftermarket..... There is enough to do most anything.

im pretty sure he was talking about the people who say there is no aftermarket

Same answer. Lincoln owners 40+ don't usually modify their cars. Add that to a total production of ~300K cars and isn't too hard to understand the lack of expensive (development costs) aftermarket parts.

Then again, with enough money pretty much anything can be done.
