New Saleen Mustang

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the new Mustang Saleen? I've never been much of a mustang fan but the Saleen is SICK! I pulled into the gas station last night and there was one at the opposite pump. Between the wheels, fat tires, louvered hood, etc... i could tell it was NOT a typical mustang, thought maybe it was just a regular V8 with a bunch of bolt ons. Then the guy started it up...wow. As he pulled away it read Saleen across the rear bumper. Had to look it up when i got home... 620 hp from the factory !! Sick. If anyone hasnt seen this car i included a link. The car shown was the exact one at the gas station.

Ummm... Yeah.
I was pulling out of a Taco Bell a couple of months ago and heard that thing coming from down the street. I was like "What the IS that thing?" It was a black S281. I'm not a big Mustang fan either, but I would take one of those for sure!
Also, the Decepticon cop car Barricade in Transformers is a S281.

Saleen went bankrupt - recently sold it's assets to a private company. I would be careful about buying any new one right now. If you ordered it through a Ford dealer you can get a Ford warranty on it - but my understanding is that only a few dealership will actually work on them.

When the car has 620 hp and 600 ft-lbs it most definately deserves the title of "Extreme".

That was most likely RWHP - Not crank!!! Top Gear probably got it all wrong. (wouldn't be the first time those glorified, extremely biased, over paid motoring journalists got things wrong)

The only problem with the Saleen is that it is still a mustang. And that 620 horsepower can't even run with a base 500 hp vette. And the Vette is way much better looking for the same price. Oh wait a stock Vette is cheaper, that's right I can get a Z06 for the price of a Saleen. Hmm who would take a Saleen over a Z06

I agree, it's an 'extreme' car for sure!!

however, when you have toothpaste, soda, printer paper, etc that are all labeled "extreme" it sort of diminishes the effect of the word. That's all I was saying. What's more, to actually put that on a badge and stick it to the fender? come on.....really?! Sort of cheesy.
