I finally made the decision, and bought me an LS

It was an offer I couldnt refuse!! Its a 2000 LS with 120xxxmiles, and I paid 3600cash. Its completely stock (no aftermarket ANYTHING), but still in EXCELLENT condition both inside and out! There are 4 issues with it tho.

1.) There is a squeeking noise coming from the driverside front tire, a strut or sway bar maybe? It squeekes when turning the wheel, but dont do it at higher speeds... any suggestions??

2.) it needs new window regulators for both front windows, anyone know where to get these cheap??

3.) APPARENTLY, this LS is like all others, and it has been leaking oil into the plugs. #3 & #5 stopped firing.. So I have quoted the price for platimun plugs, and boots, which comes to about $120, not to bad...

4.) O2 sensor went out. Bank 1. Its only a $45 part, but is this a simple DIY job?

I am hoping #1 #3 and #4 are not to difficult and can be done as DIY. As for the window reg.s, I guess Im going to the stealership (I dont want to risk messing up the nice door panels).

Anyways, anyone have a rough estimate of the costs this is all going to run me?? Also any tips or suggestions would be GREAT!

yes he can but i think coils may be cheaper on ebay, also the plugs you can get anywhere cheaper than the dealer.. but i think someone will chime in and let you know about the coils on ebay but max can help you out too just go the the five star ford forum and leave a post there with what you need and he will respond

$120? Does that come with the coils or just the boots? You're going to want to redo your valve cover seals as well when you do this, there is a VERY useful tech article that walks you through the whole swap.

The window regulator is a DIY job. Just be patient with it. I just put a new one on my driver side rear door. I couldn't tell you how much it was since I forgot already.

All DIY jobs

The window regulators are $50, you do not need the motor, just the regulator. The door cover is easy to remove, take out all the screws on botton and in the arm rest, there is another screw hidden behind the handle cover. Pry side cover off carefully with a large flat bladed screw driver. I've done this four times now and another coming, let me know if you need some tips. Just be gentle and it will pop right off.

Go to any auto parts place and get motorcraft platinum tips plugs.

Search to forum for all other tips.

I got 7 for my car through eBay and they came with the boots. Already had a FoMoCo coil that I got from 02V8Sport, hence ordering only 7 through eBay.

You should have stayed away from this car!

This model car is a total money pit. Do a google search and you will see from warped rotors, windows failing, ignition coils going out, heater not working or working all the time due to bad dccv, over heating due to hydraulic fan motor or pump failure, broken lug nut studs when removing tires, cracked coolant overflow can, battery dying for no reason, etc......
