The LS's replacement...

As for the car being more popular than the GTO, no doubt, its not a replacement for that, it replaces a crappy car, the GP.

It more is less is the replacement to the GTO and GP. Even though the GTO was originally the Holden Monaro and the G8 was the Holden Commodore which are very different platform, they still fill quite similar niches in the American market. Regardless if Pontiac acknowledges it or not, the GTO didn't do as hot as was hoped which is a reason why this car has been brought over.

I have been a big fan of Holden autos out of Australia I was so happy when Pontiac hooked up for the G6, and the G8 and next is the "UTE" coming to America as a monster V8 El Camino I think they are calling it a G8ST. Thank you Holden for putting excitement back in Pontiac.

Ok..... I understand the excitement for the new car and all, but I still think you should post the dyno numbers from the LS

I don't really need to anymore. There have been two other guys with turbo systems on their LS's that have already posted their numbers. If those other guys had not posted their turbocharged numbers up then I would have actually been in a rush to get the graphs for the pulls from my car up on here. Those fellas who posted their numbers have dealt with me and I would not consider it appropriate if I posted my numbers up for any purpose of overshadowing them.

next season, he needs time to tune and the track closes soon

plus it'll give me a chance to get mine ready for a much quicker car

Better hurry Sean! ;) CAI, Tune, Exhaust, 100 wetshot are about 2 weeks away from going in. If I sell a few other mods off of the LS and other project car parts laying around I may be doing that TT system on this car sooner than I thought.

I like it. I've actually been looking at them for awhile. Too bad the lease on my truck isn't up for another year, and I'd lose my a$$ trading in the LS. Anyways nice car, I hope you keep us updated on the progress even tho it isn't an LS. By the way it was my understanding the G8 replaced the Bonneville in Pontiac,s line up and not the Grand Prix?

There have been many people who have claimed it replaced "this" or "that" but it seems to be filling a few voids left behind by other cancelled vehicles. I don't pay much attention to press releases but rather go on what the enthusiast community seems to be doing with things. ;)
