The LS's replacement...

Better hurry Sean! ;) CAI, Tune, Exhaust, 100 wetshot are about 2 weeks away from going in. If I sell a few other mods off of the LS and other project car parts laying around I may be doing that TT system on this car sooner than I thought.

I'll cheat and put my wet kit in the mark.... or run one of my other creations. LOL Yeah right! The LS is my pride and joy!

stock on stock, I think the mark wins...... Dont worry, if I come race with anything it WILL be the LS

Stock for stock Mark vs Gen1 LS....That would be a close one. With a proper driver I think the Gen1 LS can break into the high 14's. I think with the Mmark it is easier to do it with though so the nod would go ever so slightly to that.

I saw the tail end of one of those G8s earlier today, I think it was the same color. It was blue, darker than yours, but take into account that you said it was darker in person it probably was. Anyway, nice car; just checked out the UTE, looks pretty badass.

wow - four years left....

It looks like things will be getting a lot less exciting at Pontiac, as some reports indicate that the erstwhile performance brand will be losing its best performers. Despite the fact that the G8 sedan has seen nothing but positive press from the media, including your humble scribes here at Autoblog, the realities of fuel economy and the global economy appear set to kill off the rear-wheel drive performance sedan in the prime of its short life. GM will reportedly not renew the G8 after its Holden-sourced chassis architecture is redesigned following a planned five-year run.

The Pontiac Solstice in both coupe and convertible forms is also unlikely to see a second generation. Unfortunately, the Solstice, Saturn Sky and their Opel spin-off don't generate enough sales to support another go-round, which could leave Pontiac with exactly zero vehicles with overtly sporting pretensions. While the G6 may be a decent car, it and a Cobalt derivative in the form of the G5 and a rebadged Aveo known as the G3 do not a BMW competitor make.

Interesting article. I think that you know as well as I do how much speculation happens in the auto world that never comes true though. In addition to that the G8 GT gets better mileage than allot of cars out there today with AFM so I think that the press might be jumping to hasty conclusions when it comes to talking about why or why not the G8 will be renewed. People are shocked when I tell them what my car gets for MPG, especially on the highway after I tell them what engine it has. Either way the G8 GT already has one hell of a following so even it if weren't renewed in 5 years I believe it still would have taken enough hold to last for a long time as a GM performance icon with the enthusiast crowd. That is all that matters to me anyway. ;)

First, @#$%^&*()(*&^%$#@#$%^& on you for going away from the LS.:) :) :) :) . Second, I'm VERY glad you'll still be around here---sites have a certain feeling based on the regulars to be found there and your input, without question, is part of what keeps me coming here.

I am such a diehard Ford fan that I can't bring myself to say anything positive about any GM product, but, You've Chosen Well. With TT, your new ride will be tres formidible.

To those upset by falling value of the LS:
Since I'll very likely keep my LS forevermore, the trade-in value is immaterial. I've had my '63 F-100 for twenty years, and have no notion of selling it
