Isn't your car under warranty still? Why pay for it if it is? Like I stated in your other thread, my belt did the same thing, dealer replaced the belt and pulley under factory warranty....free. What about your 30 day warranty you talked about?
I called the dealer, they told me its maintence problem so its not cover under the warrenty!! (isn't that convenient)...so off to the shop i go i guess!! Not a good start to my first Lincoln.
I'm pretty sure on the Gen 2 he's going to have to remove the intake tube. Unless they changed something from 03 to 05.

Clean your engine!
Your car is under warranty, so you took it to Midas? Go back to the dealer, and have them resolve the squeaking problem. After all it could be a pulley, right?
No...the guys at Midas chked the pulley and everthing and its the belt that is making the sqeaking sound
as former sears and goodyear mechanic, firsthand - - serpentine belt replacements are the BIGGEST ripoff we have going. unless we start charging for tire pressure checks.

You were handed a line of bull. If your car is within the 4-year/50K mile range, you qualify for the bumper to bumper warranty, which should cover this. FWIW, my 2006 LS had a squeaky belt. I took it in to the dealer, and it was replaced under warranty with no cost to me. Be assertive about this... if they say its not covered, ask them to justify it.
