93 vs 97 Mark VIII

With the Cobra intake you will lose a little bit of low end and mid range but it won't matter if you have gears.

well as soon as it warms up we are taking my 93 and 97 out for a repeat. After driving them both i'm sure the 93 will beat the gen II.

I had a run in with what looked to be a stock 95 Mark VIII with a custom flame paint job. It was even off the line, by the time I shifted into 2nd gear I had like 3 cars on him and pulling hard and then I let off. This was in my 98 LSC.

The times for your 98 in your profile is right where my 94 ran dead stock (14.651 at 97.21).

;) Thats enough about Mark viii vs mark viii...We're all in the family:cool: ....racing each other is like "INCEST"

In a lot of case there is also injector and cat issues at work. If the car has had a miss for a while the cats get nasty and won't flow well. I have had two of three with cat issues. My 98 is real bad, they just crackle after soft driving and my 94 had holes burned out from heat. A quick look on the computer will also tell you how your injectors arw doing. Long open time equals gummed up etc. After a proper dealership cleaning for injectors and converters done they were like a new car. I strongly recomend checking injectors out on the computer to anyone buying a new Mark. Fuel mileage is great also. Just to give a real world situation. I always coast down a long steep hill near my house(in drive) My 93 would start at 40 km and reach 105-110 km. My gen two that is gummed and convertered right now will not make 90kms!!! Granted we also have a gear issue at work, the gen two has the 3:27's. The exhaust is like a frickin Jake brake right now.
