I need to do a little touch-up on the emblem, otherwise...... Fini:

Thank you!!!! I wouldn't do this again, though. Mating the two surfaces was a bugger!! If I had an easy way to figure out how to position the lower section accurately I might reconsider....

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I think i'm going to cut the hole in my LS cover smaller then the jaguar cut-out and then try to tack them together on the car with super glue. That way I can take them off and have the plastic welded together and then grind the LS cover back to meet the jaguar piece. Was thinking I could use some crumbled up news paper to lift up the jaguar section a little bit and a piece of plywood to push the LS cover down while the glue sets. The end effect should be the same as what you have going on but hopefully with less bondo work.

Or I could just screw it all up and be buying a new cover :)

That looks Bad A55 man! LS 4 Life!

Yeah looks real good LS4me!
good work, hoping for no cracks on the Bondo welding.

Any HP gain? lol

Thanks!! After sanding there isn't too much Bondo left. I tried flexing the welded area and the Bondo cracked a little. I used some JB Weld over that area and that cured the problem.

At least 15hp from the exposed runners. The incoming air is quite a bit cooler!! :p

So I sprayed the cover with some Duplicolor Trim and Bumper paint. I think it's darker and looks a bit more factory......

I really wish you could actually see something under that panel, expensive supercars usually have glass hoods to show off their well crafted motors, all you can see through a ZR1 is the LS9's ugly cover/heat exchanger. it would be nice if you could actually see the blower instead!

Michael, not to nitpick (really dig this mod!) but what happened here?

It would not align straight on cut ?

Odd alignment ... but yeah, no biggie!
Kudo's on a real cool 2nd GEN mod.

Another option if you want to use the jag cover but loose the jaguar up front, you can fill the back with black resin which will bond to the cover, then just sand away until flat, add Lincoln logo of choice.

What he said, LS4me. You can either duplicate the existing emblem, use any other existing Lincoln emblem, or come up with your own. With fiberglass, you can either go flat and bolt/epoxy an emblem on, or mold it directly into the fiberglass. If you're really talented with a Dremel, you can even mold in a large block, then carve an emblem on. You could even do a picture like this; and when anyone asks why you have this on your engine, you can tell them "Duh, it's a Lincoln."

I also never knew Lincoln once used a greyhound as their emblem. That also looks pretty good under there as it is.

The Jag cover doesn't really fit that well and I could NEVER get over the cut-out in the passenger side.

My anti-virus advises HIGHLY against visiting those sites. Don't know why......

Sooo...... I may be imagining things, but it seems the intake growl is much more pronounced; especially at mid and greater throttle.

I LIKE it!!!!

The only thing this would pronounce on mine is the whistle coming from the top of the manifold... That engine cover does wonders for sound dampening!
