My new Mark, some pics

Thanks BRAH; I'm stoked..it will be a lot easier learning to do repairs on a back-up ride...repairing the daily driver is always a pressure deal...oil leak, shocks, and then heat are the big deal(s) to get it driveable....a/c and heat are not that big of a deal here in Ga

My inlaws don't see it like we do!

Not to go off topic, but my driver's side motor mount is either broken or stripped cause the motor comes up. I looked at it and it looks like a PITA to change.

Have any of you ever changed one of these and can offer some advice?

Diesel Dan put "Turbo Chucks" motor mounts in his car. He loves them and the feel of it now. Not sure where to get them but he has pics posted on here somewhere of them.

alex, don't take this the wrong way but your in-laws are some nosy azz fukkers. They should mind their own business but they don't. They have to be all up in another person's business. When they have you markless, they'll be happy. Now tell me i'm lying lol

dude!..................... You have nooooo idea!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss my '96 as it was my introduction to Mark VIII's but, I do not miss those IMRC's in any way shape or form

I miss my '93 as it was faster than a bat outta hell & the fact that I customized it my way but I'm slowly getting sooo over it. In fact I was telling my wife the other day I'm truly enjoying my black '97 more than my black '93. There are issues on Gen 1's that I don't want to deal with. Granted the blend door issue on these Gen 2's are a PITA but I live in Miami. Heater's are NEVER ever used down here.

I dunno about that
As a kid I lived in Tampa/St Pete for Xmas for years. Wasn't all that cold but my younger brother was in Fla when it actually snowed  It got cold enough to need heat of some sort.

That and I have now replaced the Blender Arm on both my Second Gen's and I did the mod to keep it from happening again at least.

what were your issues and how did they resolve? on one of my 96's bank 1 loses vac periodically; I have a backup pair which will be fine pending some Sappervoodoo
___
NoLimit...did u getcha red gen2?
...I think my new 96 is 'Ivory Metallic' HA...it's def a metallic paint, but it' was repainted at some point...saggy areas along the areas close to the ground

If your asking how I resolved the '96 problems it was easy. I sold the car after the trans wet the bed. The second Gen blender arms I slot the hole so the arm isn't stressed at full AC.

Actually now that I though about it a bit it was the passenger side IMRC that went bad. When I removed the vac hose and put my finger over it to see if it would stay closed with my finger holding the vacuum. Guess the diaphragm or what ever is in the canister was leaking.

So I live in NJ and when a cel light is on it means instant fail at inspection. So I had a spare '96 engine with 2 IMRC's on it. I took one off and used taps to hook the wires to the wires I cut off the bad IMRC. Didn't even mechanically hook it up to the engine. I just wired the one on the block open and the one laying on the engine made the Cel light stay off when I reset it. Made it through inspection and then the trans blew racing a R6 shortly afterwards.

that's hilarious, re; wiring of the pass side IMRC...yep, I think bank 1 (pass side) goes bad much more than drvrs side for some reason....mine loses vac if I go too long with no throttle; eventually it will die completely....with those runners open all the time I bet yours ran pretty funky; loss of low end torque?

bought it 6 days ago and finally saw it in daylight; here's some rainy day fuzzy phone pix of my new Mark...the first day it slammed but now it has sat with the air sw off for 4 days...bags holding pressure; I'm surprised and stoked....

the color is Metallic Ivory (HA)

hmmm, indeed they are!
those tires are slick....will prolly put salvaged 5x4.5'' hubs on sooner than later

lining up some more used parts for my new project: I'm def getting 4.5'' hubs and some other misc. stuff;
if i want it I can also get the entire front suspension (minus struts) assembled with 'most' of the major components replaced about 20k miles ago; the guy will pull it from the '94 Mark and put it in my truck bed for $125
-do I want it? orwill I be better off just buying what I need when I need it? (u/l bj's; tie rods, control arms, srb's etc)
