Bought a 2006 Chrysler 300 AWD Touring Limited this afternoon. Came down to $14,700 but I can't complain when the KBB value is almost $17k.

I think the front of these cars are hideous but it's my wife's car so I let her choose. She really wanted a Charger but AWD Chargers are hard to find. I would have preferred a C for the Hemi but that's out of our price range.

Now I just need to sell the LS.

Congrats on the purchase. Travel north during the winter? Just thinking of AWD in Florida.

Actually, I didn't realize my location is wrong. I moved from FL to CT. That's the reason I wanted to get rid of the LS and go with something FWD or AWD. If it were me driving it, I would be fine, but I don't feel safe with my wife behind the wheel in the snow and hills up here.

Could have bought a nice 06 ls with low miles for that kind of money. Was AWD a must ?

Why in the hell would I get rid of my LS for another LS? I'm getting rid of the LS because I'm sick of fixing little bull$hit problems. Both rear lock actuators are bad, traction control button broke off (fixed it once, now it's completely broken -- going to epoxy it), had to replace cooling system parts on two occasions, had to replace the solenoid pack in the trans, ebrake had an issue after resetting the battery -- ended up fixing it by resetting the battery again, one of the lugs seized up on a stud so I had to have to broken off, the brakes still squeal after greasing the $hit out of them, etc. This car is just too damn picky. It's not worth it. I'm expecting the DCCV to fail at any moment just because it's one more common problem with this car that hasn't shown its face yet.

The LS is a very gorgeous car. It has plenty of power, even if the trans is a little stiff. But I'm just sick of fixing so many things on a car with only 73k miles. There's a reason the resale on these cars is so low.

the way i see it your going to do repairs on ANY used car sooner or later unless its brand new with warranty (only ppl that buy a car and expect not to do anything other then to drive it are chicks) just saying don't be surprised if your new old car needs some repairs down the road

google any car + problems and your gonna get a sh!t load of ppl complaining

"WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS CAR...LOVE IT...EXCEPTConsSOMETHING ELECTRICAL WHEN ENGINE IS ON AND AC...HAD IN DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES, PROBLEM STILL THERE!...
THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT THAT I HAVE ON THIS CAR IS THIS CONTINIOUS ENGINE MISS...THIS HAPPEN ONLY WHEN THE AC IS ON...I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN 7 TIMES TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS...EVEN AFTER A NEW BRAIN WAS INSTALLED...I'M CONSIDERING ANOTHER VEHICLE ONLY AFTER OWNING THIS CAR FOR 8 MONTHS...I'M 98 % SURE CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM...IT TOOK 2 WEEKS TO GET THE BRAIN???????WHY BACK ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

good luck and thanks for all the help

Those 3.5Ls are pretty slow unfortunately.

reliable but slow. But when things do break, be prepared to spend more than the LS. The battery alone is a special group number and $180 to replace.

i live in ohio so i kept my marks n bought a nav. more room in 4x4 and its still a lincoln cant get any better than that its just classy n a head turner

And the backlashing begins!

@nelliott500,
congrads on the new purchase!

Good on you for thinking of the wife's safety first.

(shame on me for forgetting to do brakes and right front wheel bearing on my wife's car = done)

Wow ive never seen an ls owner talk so negatively about there car.

Good luck with that Chrysler

I'm not saying I expect everything to be perfect with a car. It's just amazing the number of "common problems" the LS has. It's a long list and, somehow, I got stuck with a handful of them in just a short amount of time.

Yeah, it's definitely slow. The car's just too heavy for it. It'll do though. I never found the LS to be much fun to drive anyway. It's hard for me to have fun in an automatic car, trying to get it to downshift properly when taking a corner, or stabbing the gas and waiting for that delay until it actually starts to take off. Just boring to me. My wife doesn't care about it being powerful and that's fine with me. She really wanted a Charger or 300, so that's what she got.

Normally I dont chime in but I feel I must... every car has problems.

If you want a car that is problem free and cheap to fix, get an older honda accord. Ive worked in the auto part business for 6 yrs now and im tired of people complaining about expensive cars with "problems". Dont take this as an attack, because even my mother complains about her 07 Cadillac SRX V8 AWD and its weird "issues" and I tell her the same thing - if you want problem free, get a car with nothing to go wrong - yes, a honda. I have an 02 Accord ex 2dr Ive been driving since I totaled my 02 LSV8 in Feb. and it is reliable as the sun, but it sucks to drive. I cant wait to get my 06 LS on the road, and im more than willing to replace things here and there because the driving experience is SO worth it.

Best of luck with the new car, but i will say that car is not perfect either. My ex-gf's mom had an 07 300C RWD and when she got rid of it at 90,000 miles it was ready to fall apart, FYI, the suspension is sh*t in those cars, so start buying front bearings and tie-rods now. And personally I hated driving the thing - at around 80 mph you really feel the weight on that car, which starts to feel like your driving the titanic, not to mention the brakes are undersized and it corners with enough body roll for 2 vehicles, but hey maybe you will be more happy with it than the LS.

Again, best of luck.

Congrats on the purchase. That's a nice car.

I thought the batter was a 94R? You can get one for half that much from Wal-Mart.

yeah if I sell the ls, probably just keep it till its not repairable, I would never replace it with another lincoln of any sort, the LS is a basket case, and the new ones are fwd and ugly as hell. If I want a fwd I will get an azera or equus and it will have a 100,000 mile warranty.

Very nice Tahoes. I have to say, I always felt that they were more for hillbillies.

Josh and Pek, i don't want you guys take offense to what i said. Nothing against you guys or any Tahoe drivers for that matter.
My comment was really in response to iking's stupid post regarding Navigators being for females comment. He is just blowin' smoke out his a55.

Maybe he does need to visit NY and see all the executives riding around in one.

i didnt say the nav is for females i said its MORE for females what i mean by that is females are more likely to drive a nav because of how luxurious the interior is

didnt mean to offend anyone just giving my opinion clearly you are ticked off seems to me like your the only one blowing smoke out of your a55 and ears

maybe you should visit Toronto and see all the rich ladies driving around in Navigators

I also drink whiskey, have a 4x4, have several rifles and shotguns, and I actually have a place in the hills. I have a place ON a hill. I don't qualify as a true hillbilly though. I have all my own teeth and they're still where God put them. :D

I heard someone say this once, it made me luagh

not a bad guy for someone who carries around a picket fence :D

I replaced the battery in my 300 SRT8 and it wasn't 180 bucks. Got an Interstate battery from the local parts place, vented battery and all.

Good luck with the new 300. :Beer
